Trump vs. Biden First Debate: Point by Point Reaction.

There were reports that President Trump did not undergo debate prep. We believe, if true, that was a mistake.

The Biden strategy was to try and get trump flustered and emotional and to a small degree we believe that part of their strategy was effective.

Chris Wallace helped Biden by violating the debate rules. Each candidate was supposed to get two minutes to answer each question. So we timed it. On most of the questions Wallace interrupted, talked over, or cut off Trump before his two minutes were up. Trump likely felt like he has to behave as he did because it truly was two against one.

Many of the questions Wallace asked were merely accusations against Trump. Wallace worked to keep Trump talking about his accusations and when Trump started to explain things that were outside of Wallace’s allegation he would interrupt. Most of the questions Wallace asked Biden were open ended.

On Appointing a Justice:

Trump should simply point out that many presidents of both parties have appointed people to the high court in an election year just as Obama did and there is nothing unusual about it.

On Obamacare:

This is when we noticed that so far when President Trump interrupted Joe Biden, Chris Wallace came it to shut Trump down, but on Trump’s two minutes Biden interrupted repeatedly and Wallace said nothing.

On Obamacare we were pretty disappointed with President Trump’s answer. He should have simply said, Remember what Obama care did, it made most private insurance policies illegal and replaced then with expensive coverage with deductibles up to $6,000 and it was such a mess most doctors would not accept the coverage. What good is your expensive coverage if doctors wont accept it? Joe you passed Obamacare and immediately the American people threw Democrats out of Congress.

When Trump was talking about COVID and how Biden was against Trumps ban on travel with China,  Wallace shut Trump down. Well was it open exchange time between the two candidates or not?

Wallace did NOT bring up the Democrat Governors who ordered elderly COVID patients into nursing homes so that the virus could kill off thousands of elderly who were on state assistance. Trump did not bring it up either, he should have.

It was also not brought up that the Chinese Communist Party, who has slavery, disappears people, and sells organs illegally, actually endorsed Joe Biden.

On Drug Prices:

Wallace argues with Trump and as soon as Trump tried to answer Biden starts laughing and making remarks in the microphone and Wallace does nothing. When Trump starts to get to the meat of his answer Wallace shuts down Trump again to announce “open discussion.”

Back to Obamacare:

Trump made a great case on how unpopular the Obamacare mandate is. Trump started talking about how expensive the Obamacare premiums were and then Wallace butted in again.

Packing the Courts:

Biden dodges the question and tells people to go out and vote. This should end the Biden campaign right here as it would tear down the system and might even lead unrest approaching civil war.

Wallace Tries to Go Back to COVID:

Biden tries to make the case that Trump was praising China and President Xi. Everyone know that Trump trashed China and their lies almost every day. So much so that Democrats said that Trump is racist against Chinese. Biden is simply trying to rewrite history here.

Trump made the case that he saved lots of lives by shutting own travel form China and COVID hotspots early. Trump also made the case even Democrat Governors praised Trump for his response.

Wallace promised Trump two minutes to respond 1:50 Wallace interrupted Trump.
Biden blames the shutdowns on President Trump. It was Democrat governors who went way too far with the shutdowns, picking who can stay open and who can close.

Wallace points out that people under him are giving statements that are contradictory. This has been an ongoing problem with President Trump that people he puts in charge are not on board and/or have their own agenda. Trump’s biggest weakness has been that he has put the wrong people in charge of hiring and in top positions, in some cases people who actively opposed the agenda he ran on.

On Campaign Rallies:

The talking point is that Trump is bad for having large outdoor rallies, which are in line with CDC guidelines. Trump says that no one wants to come to a Biden rally so he doesn’t have them.

The Economy and Shutdowns: Biden Wants It Both Ways

Trump blasts certain Democrat governors for abusing the shutdowns (picking winners and losers and enforcement selectively for partisan reasons). President Trump points out that the shutdowns are having a terrible effect on jobs suicide depression. Trump points out that Biden wants to shut down the country like Democrat Governors have done in their state and Biden did not dispute it.

[Editor’s Note: President Trump nominated Judge Barrett who ruled, quite outrageously that the Illinois shutdowns are constitutional because of an archaic and draconian 1905 court ruling.]

Biden says that Trump is bringing back the economy only for millionaires and billionaires.

Biden lets it slip that he indeed wants to shut down the whole country but wants to have it both ways:

“He is going to be the first President to have fewer jobs than when he became President….The idea that he is insisting that we go forward and open when you have almost half the states in America with significant increases in COVID deaths and COVID cases and he wants to open it up more. Why does he want to open it up? You can’t fix the economy until you fix the COVID crisis.”

Biden is blaming Trump for job losses because of COVID and then blasts Trump for wanting to get the economy back open. How do you get jobs back with the economy shut down Joe??? This is textbook “Orwellian Doublespeak.”

The number of COVID deaths has been dropping according to the official CDC numbers so these increasing deaths Biden is claiming simply is not the case.

Biden says that Trump has done nothing to help small businesses. That is patently false. The Small Business Administration has been giving grants and loans to help small business during COVID, but a new round of funding or the program needs funding and Democrats in the House of Representatives are blocking that aid.

Wallace Accuses Trump of Not Paying his Taxes:

This is ridiculous. Biden gets asked “what is your plan for …” and Trump gets asked a question that is simply an accusation. This tactic by Chris Wallace is designed to keep Trump on the defensive so he does not have the time to talk about active policy proposals.

Biden says that Trump’s tax cuts did not help the American people. Yours truly had his standard deductible doubled by the Trump Tax Cuts that saved this writer enough money that it had a real impact. A freelance writer, ghostwriter and researcher like yours truly barely etches out a living. The doubling of the standard deduction helped regular working people significantly.

Biden says that the business tax should be 28% not 21%. Will that really encourage US companies who moved to Mexico and China want to come back home? Why isn’t Trump saying this (because he didn’t prepare as he should if one believes the press reports about Trump’s debate prep)? Also, Businesses never actually “pay taxes”, they just pass on the cost of those taxes to YOU in the form of higher prices – so YOU pay them.

Wallace’s next “question” to Trump is another bogus accusation:

Wallace claims that Obama had greater job growth in his last three years than in the first three years of Trump’s. If that is true than why did Trump have the lowest unemployment rates for women, blacks, Asians, and Latinos but not Obama? If that is true why was Obama calling dismal 1.6% GDP growth “the new normal” while under President Trump in Q3 2019 Trump’s GDP growth was 2.6% just before COVID hit.

Obama said “those jobs are not coming back:

Next Wallace Question on Charlottesville is Another Veiled Accusation:

Why are we talking about Charlottesville when BLM/ANTIFA leftist violence in Portland, Seattle, Kenosha, Minneapolis, New York and Chicago was so many times greater with much more property damage and many more people killed?

Biden starts out by lying about President Trump’s “very fine people” statement in an attempt to make him look racist – but it is a lie and you can see for yourself HERE and HERE.

Trump fires back on the 1994 crime bill where Biden called blacks ‘predators’ which is on Youtube, but in the middle if saying 1994 crime bill Trump cuts himself off. The people need to hear these things.

Trump is right that he is now letting people out of jail from Biden’s legislation who got outrageously long jail terms for minor offenses. Wallace finally stops Biden from interrupting.

Trump touts his support from key military leaders and law enforcement unions. Trump talks about the violence in Democrat cities and points out that Democrats fear these far left mobs so much that they are afraid to mention law and order.

Wallace to Biden: Do You Believe There Is a Separate but Unequal System of Justice for Blacks in This Country?

Biden says that there is systemic injustice in this country in our schools and law enforcement and the way it is enforced. Then why are you against school choice Joe??? – Again wishing Trump was better prepared.

Biden says that most police are OK and that violence is never appropriate.

Wallace lets Biden give a lengthy answer to this question but when Trump tries to respond Wallace cuts him off again. At this point Trump isn’t taking it and has a great response blasting Biden asking if all the violence and burning and people killed what you call peaceful?

Why was Biden never asked about his praise for and attending the funeral of a former Grand Kleagle of the KKK?

Richard Spencer, an active white supremacist, endorsed Biden Why no questions on this?]

Wallace Question to Trump is another Bogus Accusation: You stopped Racial Sensitivity Training. Why?:

Trump did not stop sensitivity training. What he stopped was Critical Race Theory sessions that preach Marxism, rewrites American history and is so inflammatory it makes racial tensions worse. President Trump, while correct in his response, did not explain the problems of it as well as he could have, again debate prep could have had an impact here.

Wallace know what Trump is saying about Critical Race Theory is true as any review of the “course” materials show this definitively, and yet there is Chris Wallace with his follow up asking again what is wrong with racial sensitivity training as if Trump didn’t just give an answer.

Wallace to Trump: You Blast Crime Rates in Democrat Run Cities But Crime is Up in Tulsa and Ft. Worth Which Are Ran By Republicans

Another accusation question aimed at Trump. Wallace’s claim here is preposterous as it is as apples to oranges as it gets. Here are the crime statistics for Chicago, Ft. Worth, and Tulsa.

The national average for murder is 5 per 100,000 people. Chicago is at 20.7. Ft Worth is at 6.5 and Tulsa is at 14.9.

The crime increase in Fort Worth is not nearly what it is in Democrat cities. Wallace is just wrong on this. The crime spike in Tulsa is a very recent phenomena and has been brought on by sudden population growth, so much so that police could not grow with it and now Tulsa and OKC have a policing problem. Oklahoma passed new funding for more police but it will take time to train them and get them on the street.

The problems in Chicago, Baltimore, St Louis, Detroit, San Francisco and so on have had systemic corruption and crime for decades of Democrat one party rule.

Trump makes the case that there is no comparison between Oklahoma City and places these Democrat run cities. Biden talks about COVID and such again.

Wallace to Biden: What is “Reimagining Policing” and Do You Support BLM’s Call for Community Control of Policing?

What Chris?? BLM does NOT call for “Community Control of Policing” They call for defunding of police. Wallace should be called out for this.  Biden says that he is opposed to defunding police, but Biden has tried to walk on both sides of this issue.

Biden gives a very good answer on police reforms including escalation training. So why did Democrat’s in the Senate filibuster to block just such legislation written by black Senator Tim Scott?

Trump challenges Biden, “tell me one law enforcement group that supports you? Can you name even one?

Wallace Finally Gets Critical on Biden:

After an hour of softballs… Wallace to Biden: Earlier You Said You are the Democratic Party (as the Nominee he is the head of the party). Have you ever called these Democrat Mayors and Governors who had 100 days of riots telling them to get help from the National Guard and put an end to this?

Biden gives an answer that might have just ended his campaign: I don’t hold public office now.  Wallace called Biden out on his copout, as his answer was stunning.

Biden then says that Democrats’ could get it all taken care of if Trump would just stay out of the way. Another stunning cop out. This may be the straw that broke the Biden campaign’s back.

Trump grew angry at Biden’s comment and talks about how the Democrtat Mayor and Governor did NOTHING after a Trump supporter was hunted down and killed in cold blood right in the street. Trump had to send in the US Marshalls to get the shooter.

Biden then blames the riots on Trump saying that Kellyanne Conway said that, “Riots and chaos and violence helps Trumps cause”.

Did Kellyanne really say that? We looked it up and Biden is spinning wildly. Here is the complete video clip of Conway’s interview and below is the exact quote which Conway made about contrast as when the riots were happening Democrats were blaming Trump when he told the mayors and governors all they have to do is ask for help. This was her response to the Democrats’ allegation:

“The more chaos and anarchy and vandalism and violence reigns, the better it is for the very clear choice on who’s best on public safety and law and order.”

Wallace Sets Up Another Canard to Trump: Will You Condemn White Supremacists and Militia Groups who showed up at Kenosha?

Trump’s answer was like sure, who do you want me to condemn? Trump was flippant because the question was ridiculous. What militia group has burned down part of a city, looted business, and even killed some of the business owners? Trump says that it is Biden’s allies in ANTIFA that are doing the burning and looting and Biden will not condemn ANTIFA – and as soon as Trump starts to explain this Wallace starts yelling and him-hawing to stop Trump’s answer. What happened to each candidate gets two minutes to answer each question Chris??

Biden then pulls out FBI Director Wray’s dishonest comments in front of Congress. Director Wray has been less than helpful at helping to uncover the crimes committed by FBI personnel from the illegal spying on the Trump Campaign and the laws broken by the Mueller team. Another bad hire by Trump. Wray should have been fired a long time ago.

Wallace: Why Should Voters Elect You:

Trump talks about fixing the military, fixing the Veterans Administration, low unemployment before COVID, Trump’s record on getting better judges on the bench etc.

Biden goes back to the totally debunked Trump/Russia collusion fake scandal where elements of the Deep State and the FBI tried to manufacture evidence that Trump colluded with Vladimir Putin.

It was under Biden’s Vice Presidency that Russia invaded our ally Georgia. It was under VP Biden that Russia invaded Ukraine in spite of the fact that we had a defense agreement with them.

Remember this:

Wallace Blames Forest Fires on Climate Change:

Trump correctly talks about forest mismanagement in California and rightly so. Trump also points out that our pollution numbers are better and that our carbon emissions are down as well and while Trump is trying to explain this Wallace continues to interrupt him and trying to trip him up as Wallace clearly did not want Trump to have a good answer.

Then when Biden answers he starts going on about an economy built on green energy (which is scientifically impossible), elements of the “green new deal” which was rejected by Congress overwhelmingly does Wallace interrupt at all? Nope. Wallace lets Biden go on and on until Trump has had enough and he starts to fight back and Wallace talks all over Trump and then gives Biden another minute.

Wallace: How Confident Are You That We Will Have a Fair Election

Biden, immediately blurs the line between unsolicited mass mailing of ballots that people didn’t ask for vs real absentee ballots that people have to apply for and get.

Trump explains the difference between a legit absentee ballot and a mass mailing of ballots. Trump blasts Biden and Obama for trying to start a coup against Trump by manufacturing all this phony Russia stuff and the FBI’s own documents showed how VP Biden was in on the meeting to entrap and set up General Flynn who was Trump’s National Security Advisor. Notice that Biden does not deny this as he knows the released FBI documents implicate him directly.

UPDATE – 100,000 flawed ballots in New York

Wallace: 31 Million People Did Mail In Voting

Once again Wallace does not distinguish the difference between mass mailing of ballots and a genuine absentee ballot. Wallace ignores the dozens of newspaper stories and prosecutions for vote fraud and illegal ballot harvesting. If you don’t believe it, watch this from Congressman Ilhan Omar’s district:

Tucker Carlson vs. Professor who says Trump is WhitePowah…

Academics are taught about evidence, what it is and what it isn’t, and yet our universities have become so politically radicalized that all of that training is tossed out the window.  For the far left, truth simply isn’t a value and as we have written about several times, they say as much in their own writings repeatedly.

This is the kind of person that your children are exposed to on campus every day. SUNY Geneseo Professor Tony Macula:

Watch Maria Bartiromo Destroy Obamacare Architect Jonathan Gruber for Lying to Her Face (video)

Most people are very nice and would have a hard time accepting that someone would straight up lie to their face in the face of overwhelming evidence otherwise. They think this way because of the Golden Rule. A regular person would not do this to someone so why would someone lie like this to you?

As so many of the books, such as Rules for Radicals, from the progressive secular left make clear; use the people’s sense of good will and decorum against them. The left has mastered this.

When Democrat Senate Leader Harry Reid was called out about his false claims accusing  Mitt Romney of tax evasion he smiled and said, “Well Romney didn’t get elected did he?

When Hillary tells donors that she has a public position and a private position on public policy. When you see Van Jones or Anthony Weiner or Donna Brazile get on television and tell bold faced whoppers  with the straightest face, you begin to understand lying is simply a non issue for the left. It is a tool for calculated aggression.

This web site and many others are packed with verifiable evidence about the costs and failures of Obamacare. Anyone with access to an internet search engine can debunk everything Jonalthan Gruber says here within minutes. Obamacare costs are up, way up, for both individuals and employers. The number of hours worked is down. If you are like most working people you have seen this personally.

Gruber was made infamous when in private meetings he was taped explaining that the Obama Administration counted on the stupidity of the American to pass Obamacare.

Just How Bad is Common Core Curriculum?

This is a long video but well worth your time. Pay special attention to Bill Evers who is on the Trump Education Transition Team. This is so enlightening.

To learn about how sloppy the math curriculum is that Washington DC is cramming down our throats, Evers starts explaining it at 11:06 into the video.

If you are interested in reading more about just where this Common Core nonsense started, politicians and activists who want centralized control of education, a few far left billionaires and big education companies came together and decided to cram it down your throats. The talking points from those pushing Common Core about how it started are mostly demonstrable lies exposed by a couple of hours researching the topic using any search engine.

Leading Schoolbook Publisher Bans Sausage, Pork, & Pigs from Books to Avoid Offending Muslims

This is an informative example of why our public school textbooks are rife with inaccuracies. The textbook printers want to sell as many books as possible. In order to do that they give in to every omission, change, and full blown censorship demanded by almost any pressure group. Squeaky pressure groups are bad for business.

As long as government bureaucrats are running schools this will continue to be a problem.

Breitbart News:

A leading publisher of schoolbooks has banned its authors from mentioning pigs, sausages, and anything pork related in their books, lest the words offend Muslims and Jews. The ban was criticized as “utter nonsense” by a Muslim Member of Parliament, but the publishers have defended their decision as their books are sold around the world.

The edict emerged during a discussion on Radio 4’s Today program on free speech, the Daily Mail has reported. Presenter James Naughtie, whose author wife is currently in discussion with Oxford University Press (OUP) regarding an educational series of books, brandished a letter saying: “I’ve got a letter here that was sent out by OUP to an author doing something for young people.

“Among the things prohibited in the text that was commissioned by OUP was the following: Pigs plus sausages, or anything else which could be perceived as pork.

“Now, if a respectable publisher, tied to an academic institution, is saying you’ve got to write a book in which you cannot mention pigs because some people might be offended, it’s just ludicrous. It is just a joke.”

His guest, Labour MP Khalid Mahmood responded “I absolutely agree. That’s absolute utter nonsense. And when people go too far, that brings the whole discussion into disrepute.”

Gallup: 70% of K-12 teachers ‘not engaged’ or ‘actively disengaged’

Anyone surprised?

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A recent Gallup survey found that K-12 teachers who are “not engaged” or “actively disengaged” – about 70 percent of all teachers – miss a combined 2.3 million workdays than their “engaged” colleagues.

In Gallup Daily tracking surveys between Jan. 3, 2013 and Sept. 30, 2014, the polling firm used “responses to questions about workplace elements with proven links to performance outcomes” to place teachers into three categories: engaged, not engaged and actively disengaged.

Engaged teachers are enthusiastic and committed to their work, and represent about 30 percent of teachers. Not engaged teachers are satisfied but not connected to their jobs, and rarely go above and beyond for students. They represent about 57 percent of teachers.

Actively disengaged teachers not only hate their work, they find ways to undermine their coworkers or schools. Those teachers account for about 13 percent of U.S. educators, according to

Dr. Thomas Sowell: Is Thinking Now Obsolete?

Thomas Sowell
Thomas Sowell

Dr. Thomas Sowell:

Some have said that we are living in a post-industrial era, while others have said that we are living in a post-racial era. But growing evidence suggests that we are living in a post-thinking era.

Many people in Europe and the Western Hemisphere are staging angry protests against Israel’s military action in Gaza. One of the talking points against Israel is that far more Palestinian civilians have been killed by Israeli military attacks than the number of Israeli civilians killed by the Hamas rocket attacks on Israel that started this latest military conflict.

Are these protesters aware that vastly more German civilians were killed by American bombers attacking Nazi Germany during World War II than American civilians killed in the United States by Hitler’s forces?

Talk-show host Geraldo Rivera says that there is no way Israel is winning the battle for world opinion. But Israel is trying to win the battle for survival, while surrounded by enemies. Might that not be more important?

Has any other country, in any other war, been expected to keep the enemy’s civilian casualties no higher than its own civilian casualties? The idea that Israel should do so did not originate among the masses but among the educated intelligentsia.

In an age when scientists are creating artificial intelligence, too many of our educational institutions seem to be creating artificial stupidity.

New York middle school forced girls to ask for lesbian kisses

It gets better, the boys had a class on how to spot “sluts”.

Ironically, this kind of forced behavior is exactly what every homosexual person I know opposes. The school’s excuse ‘state law made us do it so we are going to do more’ and no, parents will not be notified.

Keep in mind that all of the teachers and administrators went along with this. ALL of them. It was students and parents who had to blow the whistle. We report “school administrators gone wild” stories every week and most of the stories we ignore or it is all we would have time to do, and in almost every case, not a single school administrator or teacher stood up to even question.

Parents often say that “when I went to school it was fine” as if somehow that means that things have not changed a great deal. Other parents will say “oh it is the other school district that is the problem not mine”. In the same manner Congress has an 11% approval rating and yet 83% of members of Congress get get re-elected. Odds are, the problem is in your district too.

WND (video at the link):

Outraged parents say a New York middle school instructed young female students to ask one another for a lesbian kiss – and boys learned how to spot young sluts – in an anti-bullying presentation on gender identity and sexual orientation, according to Fox News’ Todd Starnes.

According to Starnes’ Report, the children attended a special April 11 health class taught by college students at Linden Avenue Middle School in Red Hook, N.Y. Parents say they were not notified of the presentation.

The students were introduced to terms such as “pansexual” and “genderqueer.”

Some of the young female students said they were told it was common for 14-year-old girls to have sex and their parents couldn’t stop them.

Mandy Coon, a mother of an eighth-grade student said, “I am furious. I am her parent. Where does anyone get the right to tell her that it’s OK for her to have sex?”

According to Fox News, Coon said her daughter was distressed by the presentation and wondered why she’d been required to ask another girl to kiss her.

“She told me, ‘Mom, we all get teased and picked on enough – now I’m going to be called a lesbian because I had to ask another girl if I could kiss her,’” Coon said.

According to the mother, the school said the lesson was meant to “teach girls boundaries and how to say no.”

“They also picked two girls to stand in front of the class and pretend they were lesbians on a date,” Coons said.

The Poughkeepsie Journal reported that Red Hook Central School District Superintendent Paul Finch said the class focused on “improving culture, relationships, communication and self-perceptions.”

Finch said it is mandatory that the middle school teach those issues in accordance with the state’s Dignity for All Students Act.

Parent Tara Burns told Fox News, “The school is overstepping its bounds in not notifying parents first and giving us the choice. I thought it was very inappropriate. That kind of instruction is best left up to the parents.”

Parents of middle-school boys were outraged by the school’s lessons on condom usage and determining whether a girl is a slut.

“I was absolutely furious – really furious,” said one parent of a 13-year-old boy. “They were teaching the boys how to decipher if a girl is a slut.”

According to the parent, who wished to remain anonymous, boys were told to determine whether girls are promiscuous by the way they dress or the number of boys they date.

“We don’t judge people like that in our family,” she said. “We don’t call women names because of what they wear or who they date.”

Dr. Monica Crowley, Megyn Kelley & Kirsten Powers Destroy Communist-Utopian MSNBC Host (video)

This video is so good on so many levels. With that said please pay special attention to how Dr. Monica Crowley explains how tyrants and leviathan statists use the soft sweet language of utopianism to lull people to sleep before they feel the iron fist of the state.

University of Buffalo Prof Arrested, Freaks Out At Pro-Life Display (video)

Everyone is entitled to freedom of speech. What you are not entitled to do is engage in what is called a “hecklers veto”.

The “hecklers veto” is when someone creates a disturbance for the purpose of preventing others from speaking or preventing others from being able to lawfully participate in or listen to the free speech of others. It is the “hecklers veto” portion of case law that prevents a student from standing up in math class and shouting so that the class cannot be taught.

Warning: the audio is not safe for work.

Campus Reform:

A professor at a New York public university was arrested on Monday after cursing out a pro-life display which was set up by conservative activists on campus.

The incident, which was captured in its entirety on camera and posted to Youtube on Monday, depicts SUNY at Buffalo (UB) adjunct-instructor Laura Curry repeatedly cursing at police officers and activists in an emotional altercation near a display of graphic photos of human fetuses.

“But that isn’t profane but the word fuck is?” she asked a UB campus police officer who was attempting to calm her. “What is the difference between that image and me saying fuck? What is the difference?”

An official with the University of Buffalo Police Department confirmed to Campus Reform late Tuesday afternoon that the instructor was arrested on Monday and charged with disorderly conduct.

“I’m not being disorderly,” she insisted

“That is disorderedly,” Curry said, indicating the nearby pro-life display.

After cursing several more times at a high volume campus police arrested Curry.

“Would you let my class know I am under arrest… at 1 o’clock,” she shouted as they took her away. “Thank You. That image is fucking profane.”

The president of UB Students for Life, the group which set up the display, told Campus Reform on Tuesday that “police felt as though she was creating an unsafe environment.”

“She was cursing at our activists and poking a pro-life student incessantly,” said Christian Andzel.

Public School Worksheet: 2nd Amendment no right to keep and bear arms…

In this public school worksheet given to children is every lie about the Second Amendment and the Constitution offered by the radical left.

Fox News:

The father of a Connecticut child is furious after discovering that his son’s school is teaching students that Americans don’t have a Second Amendment right to bear arms.

“I am appalled,” said Steven Boibeaux, of Bristol. “It sounds to me like they are trying to indoctrinate our kids.”

Boibeaux’s son is an eighth grader at Northeast Middle School. On Monday his social studies teacher gave students a worksheet titled, ‘The Second Amendment Today.’

“The courts have consistently determined that the Second Amendment does not ensure each individual the right to bear arms,” the worksheet states. “The courts have never found a law regulating the private ownership of weapons unconstitutional.

The worksheet, published by Instructional Fair, goes on to say that the Second Amendment is not incorporated against the states.

“This means that the rights of this amendment are not extended to the individual citizens of the states,” the worksheet reads. “So a person has no right to complain about a Second Amendment violation by state laws.”

According to the document, the Second Amendment “only provides the right of a state to keep an armed National Guard.”

Boibeaux said he discovered the worksheet as he was going over his son’s homework assignments.

“I’m more than a little upset about this,” he told Fox News. “It’s not up to the teacher to determine what the Constitution means.”

Mat Staver, the founder and chairman of the Liberty Counsel, called the lesson propaganda – that is “absolutely false.”

“In fact, the US Supreme Court has affirmed that the Second Amendment ensures the individual the right to bear arms,” Staver told Fox News. “The progressive interpretation of the Second Amendment is that it doesn’t give you the right to bear arms – that it’s a corporate right of the government – but that has been rejected by the Courts.”

Boibeaux’s son’s teacher also told the students that the Constitution is a “living document.”

As noted in the worksheet provided to students – that means “the interpretation changes to meet the needs of the times.”

“The judges and courts of each generation provide the interpretation of the document,” the worksheet states.

Boibeaux called that concept mind-boggling.

It’s not up to the teacher to determine what the Constitution means,” he said. “If you want to learn about the Constitution, recite it word for word.”

Staver said the idea that the Constitution is a living document is another progressive tactic.

“This idea that this school is propagating that the Constitution can simply be changed at the whim of someone – or that the Second Amendment does not protect the individual right to bear arms is absolute propaganda and absolutely false,” Staver said.

School Assignment: Prove why Jews are evil and show loyalty to Nazis

As we always say, not a few days goes by where we do not see lunacy coming from our public schools.

When reading this story keep in mind the deluge of antisemitic propaganda that most university students are exposed to regularly.

Via The Blaze:

Albany-High-School-Nazi-Assignment-jew naziStudents in some Albany High School English classes were asked to participate in the unthinkable this week as part of a persuasive writing assignment. The objective? Prove why Jews are evil and convince the teacher of their loyalty to the Third Reich in five paragraphs or less.

“You must argue that Jews are evil, and use solid rationale from government propaganda to convince me of your loyalty to the Third Reich!” read the description on the assignment, which the school superintendent said reflects the kind of sophisticated writing expected of students under the new Common Core standards and was meant to hone students’ persuasive argument abilities.

The TimesUnion reports that students were asked to digest Nazi propaganda material, then imagine that their teacher was an SS officer who needed to be persuaded of their loyalty by arguing that Jews are the root of all the world’s ills.
“I would apologize to our families,” Albany Superintendent Marguerite Vanden Wyngaard said. “I don’t believe there was malice or intent to cause any insensitivities to our families of Jewish faith.”

Oh nooooo, why would anyone think that is offensive (/sarcasm)? Are public school administrators and teachers really this stupid or are they this radicalized? Why did it intervention in the form of public humiliation before something was done?

4th Grade Writing Assignment: I am willing to give up my constitutional rights in order to be more secure…

As we have said time and time again. Not a few days ever goes by where we do not see crap like this coming from our public schools.

School lesson willing to give up const rights paper-620x362.jpeg

It gets better. When called on it the school said that the students just wrote this on their own. Does anyone seriously believe that after a lesson on the Constitution fourth graders just penned this on their own?

Via The Blaze:

The words are written in crayon, in the haphazard bumpiness of a child’s scrawl.

“I am willing to give up some of my constitutional rights in order to be safer or more secure.”

They’re the words that Florida father Aaron Harvey was stunned to find his fourth-grade son had written, after a lesson in school about the Constitution.

Harvey’s son attends Cedar Hills Elementary in Jacksonville, Fla. Back in January, a local attorney came in to teach the students about the Bill of Rights. But after the attorney left, fourth-grade teacher Cheryl Sabb dictated the sentence to part of the class and had them copy it down, he said.

The paper sat unnoticed in Harvey’s son’s backpack for several months until last week, when his son’s mother almost threw it away. The words caught her eye in the trash, and she showed it to Harvey, who said he was at a loss for words. He asked his son, who said Sabb had spoken the sentence out loud and told them to write it down. Harvey said he asked some of his son’s classmates and got a similar answer.

“Everybody has their opinions,” Harvey told TheBlaze. “I am strongly for proper education, for the freedom of thought so you can form your own opinion and have your own free speech in the future… [but] the education is, ‘when was the Constitution drafted, when was it ratified, why did this happen, why did we choose to do this…all these things, why did they particular choose those specific rights to be in our Bill of Rights.’”

Leftist teachers threaten walk out over Senator Santorum speech…

How far will the left go to crush dissent and assault the First Amendment? How about walking out of class and not teaching the kids.

Read carefully.

Fox News:

A Michigan high school canceled a speech by former Sen. Rick Santorum after teachers became outraged over his opposition to gay marriage and threatened to stage protests and a possible work stoppage.

Santorum had been invited to deliver a upcoming speech on leadership by the Young Americans for Freedom chapter at Gross Pointe South High School. But the speech was canceled on Monday after the school district’s superintendent heard from angry teachers.

Adam Tragone, a spokesman for Young America’s Foundation, told Fox News they were very disappointed in the decision to cancel Santorum’s address.

“Most of the teachers were outraged by some of the senator’s statements about marriage,” he said. “The superintendent took these concerns very seriously and said he found Mr. Santorum’s stances on marriage very divisive and extreme.”

Thomas Harwood, superintendent of the Gross Pointe Public School System, did not return telephone calls seeking comment.

Langston Bowens, 18, the president of the YAF chapter, told Fox News that he’s not surprised by the campus outrage.

“They flooded my principal’s office and complained about how this bigoted, racist homophobic speaker was going to come to our school,” he said. “They were very offended. They threatened protests. They threatened not to show up to work – because he’s a conservative.”

Bowens said the young conservative student worked hard to raise the money to bring Santorum to campus and the school’s principal actually signed off on the address.

It was the superintendent, he said, that pulled the plug.

“Our school is liberal and not very conservative-friendly,” the teenager told Fox News. “We’re called bigoted, racist and stupid because we are conservatives.”

Of course Senator Santorum is none of those things and the vast majority of the country well knows it. So how is it that once again, does such a high concentration of the worst form of radicals all but take control of almost any public school?

Texas Public University Professor Forced Students to Create Anti-Second Amendment Propaganda

Not a few days go buy when we don’t see a story like this coming from our public schools.

Via Campus Reform:

Midwestern State University Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Betty Stewart confirmed to Campus Reform Friday the school has launched an investigation into professor Jennifer Yucus’ conduct after a student filed an official complaint on Thursday.

According to the complaint, obtained by Campus Reform, the professor compelled students in her graphic design class to create artwork opposing firearms on campus and opposing pro-gun legislation currently pending before the Texas state legislature.

The professor then used the artwork students created online to publicize an anti-gun petition entitled “MSU is anti-Concealed Carry on Campus” and on a now deleted Facebook page opposing firearms, says the complaint.

“On Monday, April 1, around 7 PM (class was 5:30 – 8:20), Jennifer Yucus, Assistant Professor of Graphic Art/Design, compelled students from her Computers For Artists class to advocate in favor of a political petition opposing firearms on campus, in opposition to a pair of bills currently before the Texas legislature, using personal art materials and MSU resources,” reads the complaint.

“Several of my classmates were uncomfortable with the assignment and either quietly or openly expressed this,” it continues. “Professor Yucus asked students to rationalize objections by thinking of it as a job from an employer (or words to that effect).”

The complaint adds that Yucus “did require all works to include the URL to the petition” she had created and adds that students were photographed while crafting the posters to give the illusion of youth support.

“Professor Yucus took photos of her students in the process of drafting and creating the posters, but did not say how these would be used,” says the complaint. “The posters were then hung in the hallways of the Fain Arts building, giving the impression of student support.”

Some of the photos later appeared on an anti-gun Facebook page that appeared to have been created by Yucus. The page appeared to have been deleted after the complaint was filed, but Campus Reform was able to capture the posted images before they were removed.

According to the complaint, Yucus used her official university-issued e-mail address to later forward a URL to her petition to the entire class.

State law in Texas appears to forbid professors at public universities from using their authority to compel others to advocate for political causes.

“A state officer or employee may not use official authority… to interfere with or affect the result of an election or nomination of a candidate or to achieve any other political purpose,” reads subsection C of 556.004 of Government Code, Title 5, entitled “Open Government, Ethics.”

Hidden Camera: Teacher Tells Students Republicans Are Racist Losers (video)

In watching this video you see almost every long debunked far left Democrat fallacy in the book, which he presents to students as fact.

Spreading his kind of racial animus is a tactic right out of the Frankfurt School of Marxism (communism). The goal, according to Frankfurt School teachings, is to spread cultural marxism via conflict theory. Pit people against each other via any difference that can be exploited; white vs black, rich vs poor, management vs labor, men vs women, urban vs suburban etc – in order to keep them fighting while the Marxists build an all powerful  leviathan state in the name of “bringing people together”.

A wise man once said, “Only a fool fights in a burning house”. The left keeps people fighting while they loot the burning house.

What is seen in this video is not as unusual to see in class as one might think. When I sat in class I didn’t let teachers get away with it. I helped publish a student newspaper and made it very clear that what is said in class is game for publication. That helped professors to behave themselves, at least while I was watching.

Campus Reform:

A professor at the University of Southern California (USC) appears to have used a fall semester 2012 political science class to deliver sustained and angered attacks on Republicans, who he characterized as old, white, racist, and “losers.”

In a 15 min. video secretly captured by USC student Tyler Talgo, political science Professor Darry Sragow also appears to endorse the illegal suppression of Republican votes.

“You lose their information on the election in the mail,” he suggested when a student asked him how to keep Republicans from voting. “I mean there is lots of ways to do it [SIC].”

A teaching assistant (TA), who also appeared to work for the university, then seemed to suggest Black Panthers could be placed at polling stations to intimidate Republican voters.

Rather than rebuking the TA, Sragow appeared to confirm the suggestion.

“Yeah, yeah,” he said. “You can do that.”

Neither a spokesperson for USC, or professor Sragow, responded to multiple requests from Campus Reform seeking comment.

While endorsing illegal techniques Sragow also accused the GOP of suppressing Democratic votes by supporting laws requiring voter I.D.

“Republicans are trying to prevent people of color and people of lower income from voting by requiring voter I.D.” he said.

Mike Adams’ UNC-Wilmington First Amendment Lawsuit Heads to Trial

It is about time!

Via William Creeley at FIRE:

In April 2007, Professor Mike Adams of the University of North Carolina-Wilmington filed a federal lawsuit against his institution, alleging that he had been denied promotion in part due to political viewpoints he had expressed in columns written for non-university publications. Nearly six years and one successful appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit later, a federal district court has ruled that Adams’ First Amendment claim may proceed to trial.

Adams’ April 2007 complaint, filed with the cooperation of the Alliance Defense Fund (now the Alliance Defending Freedom), accused UNC-Wilmington officials of violating his First Amendment rights by denying his promotion on account of his expression as a conservative columnist. Adams also alleged that he had suffered religious discrimination and an equal protection violation.

Three years later, in a March 2010 ruling, a federal district court rejected Adams’ claim of First Amendment retaliation, finding that the columns constituted speech “made pursuant to his official duties” as a professor and were thus not protected by the First Amendment. The court reached its decision by relying on the Supreme Court’s ruling in Garcetti v. Ceballos, 547 U.S. 410 (2006). In Garcetti, the Court ruled that public employees do not enjoy First Amendment protections when engaging in speech pursuant to their official duties. Applying Garcetti‘s holding to Adams’ case, the district court determined that the columns could not be cited as grounds for retaliation in violation of the First Amendment.

From a faculty speech standpoint, the district court’s ruling was very problematic, as I explained here on The Torch a few years back:

We here at FIRE found the district court’s ruling against Adams deeply worrying. For one, we felt the facts provided significant support for Adams’ First Amendment claim. But even more ominously, the district court’s reliance on Garcetti made the ruling against Adams just the latest in a quicklygrowing string of Garcetti-based defeats for public university faculty members. The problem with Garcetti is that in lessening First Amendment protections for public employees generally, it particularly impacts faculty members, whose speech in fulfilling teaching and research duties differs greatly from the speech of, say, district attorneys, police officers, or public administrators. Because while the government as employer may reasonably expect a significant amount of control over the public speech of district attorneys, that same amount of control over the scholarly research and teaching of public university faculty members is inappropriate and amounts to an infringement on academic freedom.

To address this exact concern, Justice Anthony Kennedy inserted a crucial caveat into the majority opinion he penned in Garcetti, writing:

There is some argument that expression related to academic scholarship or classroom instruction implicates additional constitutional interests that are not fully accounted for by this Court’s customary employee-speech jurisprudence. We need not, and for that reason do not, decide whether the analysis we conduct today would apply in the same manner to a case involving speech related to scholarship or teaching.

Justice Kennedy thus specifically and explicitly declined to extend Garcetti‘s analysis to bear on cases involving the speech of public university faculty, reserving the question. Unfortunately, in application, Justice Kennedy’s careful carve-out has been largely disregarded by courts, and Garcetti‘s impact on faculty speech has been so significant in recent years that the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) mounted a campaign to push back against Garcetti and what it has deemed “judicial hostility or indifference” to academic freedom.

Adams appealed the district court’s ruling to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. In support of Adams’ appeal, FIRE joined an amici curiae brief with the AAUP and the Thomas Jefferson Center for the Protection of Free Expression, asking the Fourth Circuit to recognize Garcetti‘s inapplicability to Adams’ situation.

Thankfully, the Fourth Circuit did just that. Reversing the district court’s dismissal of Adams’ claims, the court wrote that “the district court applied Garcetti without acknowledging, let alone addressing, the clear language in that opinion that casts doubt on whether the Garcetti analysis applies in the academic context of a public university.” Continuing, the Fourth Circuit observed:

Put simply, Adams’ speech was not tied to any more specific or direct employee duty than the general concept that professors will engage in writing, public appearances, and service within their respective fields. For all the reasons discussed above, that thin thread is insufficient to render Adams’ speech “pursuant to [his] official duties” as intended by Garcetti.

Applying Garcetti to the academic work of a public university faculty member under the facts of this case could place beyond the reach of First Amendment protection many forms of public speech or service a professor engaged in during his employment. That would not appear to be what Garcetti intended, nor is it consistent with our long-standing recognition that no individual loses his ability to speak as a private citizen by virtue of public employment.

The case was remanded back to the district court for further proceedings.

Last Friday, March 22, Senior United States District Judge Malcolm J. Howard issued an order denying the UNC-Wilmington defendants’ motion to dismiss, finding that Adams “has brought forth evidence from which a reasonable jury could find that his speech was a substantial or motivating factor in the decision to deny tenure to plaintiff.”

Salt Lake School Willingly Breaks Law To Ban Boy Scouts

Here we go again, school administrators willingly breaking the law to engage in Frankfurt School cultural marxism. This is not unusual, the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) and the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) see just such law breaking every day as they fight to get radicalized school administrators and faculty to simply obey the law.

The school administrators don’t care if they break the law because when they lose in court it is the taxpayer who pays, not them. This is why FIRE is working to change that so that those in our schools who break the law under “color of law” pay the price personally.

Just as overt communist propaganda managed to get entrenched into the the curriculum of 875 Texas school districts before the state legislature and the elected Texas board of education became aware of it, we have this going on in ultra-conservative Salt Lake City.

At Missouri State the university ordered a Christian student to engage in a homosexual sex act and engage in far left political advocacy…or else:

This is how entrenched the radical left has dug itself into our public schools. Survey: Liberal profs admit they’d discriminate against conservatives in hiring, advancement…

See our Academic Misconduct category.

Todd Starnes at Fox News:

A federal civil rights complaint has been filed against the Salt Lake City School Board after a principal booted a Cub Scout pack from an elementary school.

About 30 eight to 11 year-olds were told they could no longer meet at Mountain View Elementary School because the Boy Scout’s ban on gay members in leaders conflicted with the school district’s anti-bias policy.

The ban drew the ire of Michael Clara, a school board member and lifetime Boy Scout. Clara filed the federal complaint on behalf of two Latino parents.

“I believe it is an assault on the founding principles of our country for school officials to attempt to exclude a voice no less legitimate than its own from public school participation,” Clara told Fox News. “A marketplace of ideas devoid of competitive viewpoints engenders an insidious society of conformity, contrary to the fundamental precepts of our Constitution.”

He claims the school district is violating the Boy Scout Act – a law that requires schools to allow access to the Boy Scouts if they allow access to outside groups.

“It’s unfortunate this principal has the backing of the district to implement their own form of discrimination and racism,” Clara told Fox News. “They are using the resources of the school system to punish students who don’t agree with us.

The scout troop is made up of mostly Latino boys, he said – and the parents who complained are Catholics.

A district spokesperson told local media they had not seen a copy of the complaint.

On March 16 two Latino parents contacted Clara after the principal informed them the Cub Scout pack would no longer be allowed to meet at the school.

Three days later the school board member received a telephone call from the principal confirming that directive.

“(He) confirmed that the Cub Scouts were prohibited from meeting in the building because they will not allow gay scout leaders,” he said.

Clara, who describes himself as a Christian conservative Republican who supports gay rights, said he was very concerned by the ban.

“Why on Earth would we want to remove something positive from the school,” he asked. “Where does this end? It’s a form of discrimination in the name of intolerance.”

National Research Council: Telling both sides “confuses children”

Once again, never does a week go buy were we do not see the most fantastic idiocy coming from the public education sector.

Even many of the authors of the now thoroughly discredited UN IPCC report on global warming, which abandoned even basic academic standards, have called out the report for what it is, the entrenched far left public education establishment is cramming it down children’s throats.

[Editor’s Note – Be sure to see the video at the following link – Lord Christopher Monckton lecture at the Heartland Institute: Global warming alarmists have lost the argument both scientifically and rhetorically.]

Via The Daily Caller:

Climate change may soon be coming to every classroom in the country.

Pending nationwide science standards will recommend that K-12 students at public schools learn about climate change to help fill a knowledge gap concerning the subject, while skepticism will be discouraged.

“Only one in five [students] feel like they’ve got a good handle on climate change from what they’ve learned in school,” Mark McCaffrey of the National Center for Science Education told NPR, adding that many teachers will also need climate change science training. “So the state of climate change education in the U.S. is abysmal.”

New science standards are being developed by the National Research Council with help from 26 states to identify science that “all K–12 students should know,” according to the website promoting the standards.

It has been almost 15 years since the last time the National Research Council and the American Association for Advancement in Science published recommendations on which states base their standards.

“There was never a debate about whether climate change would be in there,” says Heidi Schweingruber of the National Research Council. “It is a fundamental part of science, and so that’s what our work is based on, the scientific consensus.”

Schweingruber added that much consideration was put into how to teach what can be a depressing topic and not alarm students.

“We’ve heard stories of students who learn about climate change,” said McCaffrey. “Then they go home and tell their parents, and everybody’s upset because the parents are driving their kids to the soccer game, and the kids are feeling guilty about being in the

NPR notes that educators say the controversy surrounding climate change encourages many teachers to avoid the topic or show competing viewpoints — like Al Gore’s documentary “An Inconvenient Truth” against the British documentary “The Great Global Warming Swindle” — which they say just causes more confusion about the issue.

70% of Texas school districts adopt curriculum pushing communist indoctrination (video)

And the legislature did not become aware of it until 875 school districts had already adopted the program.

The curriculum, called CSCOPE, includes a list that shows capitalism on the bottom of the list of “just economic systems” along with nazism; with socialism and communism at the top of the most just. Of course those who have taken most any serious political history classes well knows that nazism and communism, in application, are virtually identical.

[Note While the propaganda used to sell communism and nazism/facism is very different, in application, as Professor of Russian and European history Dr. Dmitry Shlapentokh put it, “One is a great white shark and the other is a killer whale, sure one is a fish and the other is a mammal, but as far as their prey are concerned they are one in the same”.]

The curriculum also includes lessons having students design a new communist/socialist flag, pledging allegiance to Mexico, capitalism is “selfish”, the Founders were terrorists,  etc. Sen. Larry Taylor (Friendswood) said he found the lesson plan “very egregious as a Texan and an American.”

We, here at Political Arena, have been following this story. When parents first became alarmed went to school boards for answers they were denied access or review of the curriculum. In some school districts students were even told to not tell parents what they were reviewing in class.

In fact, Texas State Board of Education member David Bradley issued the following statement:

…the ten-page CSCOPE contract that teachers are required to sign prior to using the curriculum. It prohibits educators from showing CSCOPE content to parents. This directly conflicts with the state law assuring parents the right to review any and all curriculum used in public schools to instruct their children.

In this same vein, it took the Chairman of our Education Board six months to obtain an access password from CSCOPE developers known as the Texas Education Service Center Curriculum Collaborative (TESCCC). The TESCCC board is comprised of the 20 executive directors of the 20 publicly funded Regional Education Service Centers in Texas. Access to their meetings and minutes was repeatedly denied until the Texas Attorney General insisted that their meetings be posted and open to the public in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act.

This behavior indicates that the school administrators know very well what they are pushing on the kids and their efforts to keep it secret have been significant.

Defenders of CSCOPE have come up with a list of talking points to defend the curriculum with talking points that are a pack of lies.

We have reported here at Political Arena that the radicalization of our public education is widespread and not a week goes by where we do not see several heinous examples of this.

Imagine the ideological wolf pack mentality among teachers and school administrators to get this implemented in 875 Texas school districts before parents and the state legislature started to become aware, there was not one teacher or administrator who blew the whistle, not one.

Documentary: Tax dollars used to push racist ideology on teachers and students (video)

The ideology is Marxism disguised as racism and/or “multi-culturalism”.

The nonsense exposed in this video is crammed down student and teacher’s throats at almost very public school and university, and if you think it isn’t being done at your local public school, you are wrong.

What is seen in this video is exactly the cultural Marxism taught by the Frankfurt School of Marxism (communism)….and, in the case of Wisconsin, they used money that was earmarked for special needs children to pay for it.

Chicago Will Require Kindergarteners to Take Sex Ed

Yet another installment of how radicalized and out of touch public education has become.

CNS News:

A new policy that was created in part with the consultation of Planned Parenthood of Illinois will require Chicago Public School students from kindergarteners and up to receive sexual health education instruction beginning in 2015.

According to the Chicago Public Schools website, the new policy passed last week requires “minimum instructional minutes” for students, and instructional material is tailored around age-appropriateness and “medically accurate information.”

“It is important that we provide students of all ages with accurate and appropriate information so they can make healthy choices in regards to their social interactions, behaviors, and relationships,” said Chicago Public Schools CEO Barbara Byrd-Bennett in a statement.

“By implementing a new sexual health education policy, we will be helping them to build a foundation of knowledge that can guide them not just in the pre-adolescent and adolescent years, but throughout their lives,” she continued.

According to the Chicago Public Schools website, the new policy was developed by the Chicago Public School Office of Student Health and Wellness (OSHW). The Chicago Public Schools website said that since June 2012, OSHW has been in consultation with various stakeholder groups for feedback and recommendations in developing the policy.

“Among the participants were Mikva Challenge, Chicago Department of Public Health, Planned Parenthood of Illinois, University of Illinois Chicago, Illinois Caucus for Adolescent Health and CPS high school students,” the website said.

Sowell: Public Education Creating a Mindset that Undermines American Society

Dr. Sowell is our greatest living philosopher and he is black, which means of course, that if you disagree with him it automatically makes you a racist.

UPDATE – And here is a small example of what Dr. Sowell is talking about: Fort Collins students read Pledge of Allegiance in Arabic

Dr. Thomas Sowell:

Many years ago, as a young man, I read a very interesting book about the rise of the Communists to power in China. In the last chapter, the author tried to explain why and how this had happened.

Among the factors he cited were the country’s educators. That struck me as odd, and not very plausible, at the time. But the passing years have made that seem less and less odd, and more and more plausible. Today, I see our own educators playing a similar role in creating a mindset that undermines American society.

Thomas Sowell
Thomas Sowell

Schools were once thought of as places where a society’s knowledge and experience were passed on to the younger generation. But, about a hundred years ago, Professor John Dewey of Columbia University came up with a very different conception of education — one that has spread through American schools of education, and even influenced education in countries overseas.

John Dewey saw the role of the teacher, not as a transmitter of a society’s culture to the young, but as an agent of change — someone strategically placed, with an opportunity to condition students to want a different kind of society.

A century later, we are seeing schools across America indoctrinating students to believe in all sorts of politically correct notions. The history that is taught in too many of our schools is a history that emphasizes everything that has gone bad, or can be made to look bad, in America — and that gives little, if any, attention to the great achievements of this country.

If you think that is an exaggeration, get a copy of “A People’s History of the United States” by Howard Zinn and read it. As someone who used to read translations of official Communist newspapers in the days of the Soviet Union, I know that those papers’ attempts to degrade the United States did not sink quite as low as Howard Zinn’s book.

That book has sold millions of copies, poisoning the minds of millions of students in schools and colleges against their own country. But this book is one of many things that enable teachers to think of themselves as “agents of change,” without having the slightest accountability for whether that change turns out to be for the better or for the worse — or, indeed, utterly catastrophic.

This misuse of schools to undermine one’s own society is not something confined to the United States or even to our own time. It is common in Western countries for educators, the media and the intelligentsia in general, to single out Western civilization for special condemnation for sins that have been common to the human race, in all parts of the world, for thousands of years.

Meanwhile, all sorts of fictitious virtues are attributed to non-Western societies, and their worst crimes are often passed over in silence, or at least shrugged off by saying some such thing as “Who are we to judge?”

Far left academics pushing “junk science” at military colleges to indoctrinate students

And junk science it is. This “study” (see below) is filled with very bogus cliché in the book. This “study” , like all too many writings from radicalized academics, is filled with opinion presented as fact, including but not limited too: small government activists are racists, leftists are “future oriented” modern and “progressive” while conservatives are backwards and “in the past”.

The “study” also paints traditional Americans as THE domestic terror threat, but the FBI has listed far left groups such as ALF, ELF and other left-wing groups as the most active and deadly domestic terror groups and have for many years.

The left is future oriented? As if centralized government control of society and the economy is somehow a new concept? On the contrary that idea is as old as the idea of government itself. The vast majority of man throughout history has lived under such rule.

The idea that rights come from God and cannot be usurped by government, government should be limited by rules and separation of powers, and where the minority is protected from the whims of the majority by law are new concepts and the United States was the first country in the history of the world to be founded upon those ideas; so if anything it is American conservatism that is modern, and those who favor a leviathan state, whatever the spin used to sell it, the dinosaur form of government.

The “study” also says that the left values separation of powers. Anyone skilled in politics is already laughing at this one. It is the Democratic Leader in the Senate who is asking President Obama to violate separation of powers by legislating via executive order and unilaterally raise the debt ceiling illegally. It is the left that ignores the limits placed in Article I, Section 8, as well as the 9th and 10th Amendments as well as the 5th Amendment clause about not taking property without just compensation and that is just for starters.

This is far from the first time an “academic study” ended up being nothing more than a vehicle for politically motivated slander. The IU School of Journalism published this study comparing Bill O’Reilly to the Nazi’s using laughable “fast and loose” terms and tactics. These attacks from radicalized academia are used to justify the kind of hate that we saw when far left groups attacked a charity that helps rape victims for the terrible crime of letting Bill O’Reilly raise money for them.

Rowan Scarborough at The Washington Times:

The report issued this week by the Combating Terrorism Center at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., is titled “Challengers from the Sidelines: Understanding America’s Violent Far-Right.”

The center — part of the institution where men and women are molded into Army officers — posted the report Tuesday. It lumps limited government activists with three movements it identifies as “a racist/white supremacy movement, an anti-federalist movement and a fundamentalist movement.”

The West Point center typically focuses reports on al Qaeda and other Islamic extremists attempting to gain power in Asia, the Middle East and Africa through violence.

But its latest study turns inward and paints a broad brush of people it considers “far right.”

It says anti-federalists “espouse strong convictions regarding the federal government, believing it to be corrupt and tyrannical, with a natural tendency to intrude on individuals’ civil and constitutional rights. Finally, they support civil activism, individual freedoms, and self government. Extremists in the anti-federalist movement direct most their violence against the federal government and its proxies in law enforcement.”

The report also draws a link between the mainstream conservative movement and the violent “far right,” and describes liberals as “future oriented” and conservatives as living in the past.

“While liberal worldviews are future- or progressive -oriented, conservative perspectives are more past-oriented, and in general, are interested in preserving the status quo.” the report says. “The far right represents a more extreme version of conservatism, as its political vision is usually justified by the aspiration to restore or preserve values and practices that are part of the idealized historical heritage of the nation or ethnic community.”

The report adds: “While far-right groups’ ideology is designed to exclude minorities and foreigners, the liberal-democratic system is designed to emphasize civil rights, minority rights and the balance of power.”

The report says there were 350 “attacks initiated by far-right groups/individuals” in 2011.

Details about what makes an attack a “far right” action are not clear in the report, which was written by Arie Perliger, who directs the center’s terrorism studies and teaches social sciences at West Point.

A Republican congressional staffer who served in the military told The Washington Times: “If [the Defense Department] is looking for places to cut spending, this junk study is ground zero.

“Shouldn’t the Combating Terrorism Center be combating radical Islam around the globe instead of perpetuating the left’s myth that right-wingers are terrorists?” the staffer said. “The $64,000 dollar question is when will the Combating Terrorism Center publish their study on real left-wing terrorists like the Animal Liberation Front, Earth Liberation Front, and the Weather Underground?”
