Obama slams GOP as party of billionaires while attending a $32,000 per head fundraiser hosted by billionaire named Rich Richman

Obama slams GOP as party of billionaires then attends $32k-a-head fundraiser hosted by billionaire property tycoon named Rich Richman.

Obama chided the Republican Party for catering to the ‘interests of billionaires’ in an email on Tuesday.

He then attended a series of Democratic Party fundraisers hosted by wealthy donors, including billionaire Richman.

Another was held at the home of Bill White, a former museum head who had to pay New York $1 million in restitution for a state pension scheme.

UK Daily Mail:

President Barack Obama chided the Republican Party for catering to the ‘interests of billionaires’ in an email to supporters on Tuesday, then attended a series of high-dollar fundraisers, including one at real estate mogul Rich Richman’s house.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee fundraiser at Richman’s house in Greenwich, Connecticut, cost as much as $32,400 a person, according to the White House.

The other two events, held in New York and sponsored by the Democratic National Committee, cost between $1,000 and $32,400 to attend.

As Obama was yucking it up with wealthy Democratic donors, he sent out a fundraising email slamming the GOP for being in the pocket of billionaires, the Washington Times reports.

‘If the Republicans win, we know who they’ll be fighting for,’ Obama allegedly wrote. ‘Once again, the interests of billionaires will come before the needs of the middle class.’

Ferguson: Agitators, Local Law Enforcement, Politicians, Media; All Close to White House

[Editor’s Note: Wow did we nail it: NYT: Democrats Using Ferguson Shooting To Mobilize Voters For 2014]

The horses were led to water and everyone drank….

i heart ferguson

Before we dig into what may be the most important story about the riots, looting and protests in Ferguson Missouri we want to make one thing very clear. We are not taking a position on whether or not the Micheal Brown shooting was totally justified.

Why?

The facts are that there are multiple conflicting witnesses on both sides, people are rushing to judgment and there has been disinformation coming from both sides. For Example: some reports said that Brown was shot in the back and the autopsy proved that was not the case. Other reports said that Officer Wilson suffered an eye socket fracture and now that has been refuted. It is going to be some time before we have a more complete picture of what happened on that day, if ever.

What we are certain of however is that fear, mistrust and agitation have been fueled by both “sides”. While some have acted responsibly, powerful Democrats and activists with deep roots into the current Democratic Party leadership are the ones burning this candle at both ends.

“If you’re not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.” – Malcolm X

It has been the playbook of the left to destroy the American melting-pot (E pluribus Unum), by agitating any differences among Americans. Rich vs poor, black vs white, lack vs Latino, management vs labor; all are used to divide and conquer. Democrats are empowered by promising justice to both sides. This playbook has been spelled out in detail by in countless books and publications by the left from the Communist Manifesto, to the works of Vladimir Lenin, the scholarly research of Cultural Marxism by the Frankfurt School (which invented multiculturalism and political correctness), to the current Democratic Party campaign playbook, Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinsky.

Instead of dealing with the low hanging fruit first such as the agitation of Al Sharpton lets look at those who runs state and local politics in Missouri. How has local law enforcement been politicized in recent years?

Missouri Governor Jay Nixon put out his infamous MIAC Report with the Missouri Highway Patrol which lumped people who are pro-life, oppose illegal immigration, TEA Party activists and veterans as terrorists along with skinheads and anti-semites.

Remember this from the 2008 election? St. Louis County prosecutors and sheriffs formed the “Obama Truth Squad.”

Prosecutors and sheriffs from across Missouri are joining something called the “Barack Obama Truth Squad.” Two high-profile prosecutors are part of the team. We met them this afternoon in the Central West this afternoon. They are Jennifer Joyce of the city (and) Bob McCulloch, the St. Louis County prosecuting attorney. They will be reminding voters that Barack Obama is a Christian, who wants to cut taxes for anyone making less than $250,000 a year. They also say they plan to respond immediately to any ads and statements that might violate Missouri ethics laws.

The threat here is not veiled at all. Work against the election of Barack Obama and you will gain the undivided attention of police and prosecutors.

This is also where Kenneth Gladney, a 38 year old black men who was selling political buttons and shirts to make a living at political events, was beaten on video by SEIU thugs working in league with the Democratic Party. St Louis law enforcement and prosecutors were not interested in filing charges until public pressure grew and then the prosecution was so unaggressive that in spite of having the video which shows what happened, the SEIU thugs were acquitted.

Governor Nixon at first was critical of St Louis authorities, all Democrats mind you, saying that police, by selectively releasing bits of information were trying to besmirch Micheal Brown, then Gov. Nixon said that he wanted a vigorous prosecution of the officer involved, even going so far as to say that there “needs to be justice for the family of Micheal Brown”. Now Gov. Nixon says that the officer might not face any kind of trial at all.

It get’s better. The prosecutor and chief investigator Bob – Obama Truth Squad – McCulloch’s “father, mother, brother, uncle and cousin all worked for the St. Louis Police Department, and his father was killed while responding to a call involving a black suspect”. Local community leaders have asked McCulloch to recuse himself because of the apparent conflict of interests. McCulloch has refused to recuse himself and Governor Nixon, who promised that justice, is standing by McCulloch.

Who needs agitators like Al Sharpton when you have a crew like this undermining all confidence in the process?

Confidence in the process needs to be restored if there is going to be any healing in Ferguson. Fox News’ Steve Harrigan asked one of the protestors if he believed in innocent until proven guilty:

(Paraphrasing) Sure I do, there should be a trial, but there is a double standard.  If someone from my community shoots an unarmed man he will get locked up and then there will be a trial to give him a chance to be prove himself innocent. When they kill us they don’t get locked up, most of the time there is no trial, nothing.

Agree with the protestor’s interpretation of the system or not, to the average man on the street the protestor makes a good point. There appears to be two justice systems, one for those in power and another for his community. Reason Magazine reports that 50% of Americans believe that police are not held accountable for their misconduct. That number rises to 64 percent for Hispanics and 66 percent for African Americans.

Local police, who’s training and actions are under the jurisdiction of the very well connected Democrats mentioned above, have not inspired confidence and instead have accomplished rather the opposite. To be clear we are not anti-police by any means but facts are facts and the behavior of local police controlled by Democrats for decades speaks to the problems in St Louis County.

ferguson_police_military sniper pointing at crowd

military-police-ferguson camo masks guns up

While the militarization of police is another article and another subject, there are clear training issues shown in these photos. Christopher Holton, Vice President of the Center for Security Policy, stated on his Facebook page that putting a sniper in plain view with his rifle pointed at protestors is foolish and clearly provocative. Police going about with rifles raised is more of the same. Anyone with firearms training knows that one do not raise a weapon at someone unless there is an intent to shoot as someone should have told the officer in the video below while he was threatening to “expletive kill protestors” (warning NSFW):

Further undermining public confidence, as thugs looted police were ordered to stand down leaving store owners on their own. Police also targeted journalists which has resulted in multiple lawsuits under Missouri’s Sunshine Law. At least one of the attacks on a news crew was caught on video.

The raw statistics of Ferguson Police under the control of our inclusive and tolerant Democratic Party friends also do not inspire confidence. While over 67% of Ferguson’s population is black only three of its 53 police officers are. Traffic stop statistics show that 86% of traffic stops are black drivers. One member of the Ferguson City Council is black and zero members of its school board are. Here is a statistic that anyone would find maddening, 19% of Ferguson’s general budget comes from traffic fines and court fees. For profit policing has always disproportionately affected the poor and in a community like Ferguson it means blacks. It will be interesting to see how Democrats attempt to find a way to blame non-existent Republicans in Ferguson or St Louis for this.

Holder Sharpton
Attorney General Eric Holder with Al Sharpton

All of this and more has prompted Attorney General Eric Holder to launch a full DoJ investigation of his own. We wish this development would inspire confidence. Remember that Holder is responsible for sending guns to Mexican drug cartels in an effort to blame American gun owners for the violence that ensued. Holder Has politicized the voting rights division and protected the Black Panthers as they showed up armed to the polls to help insure that only Obama supporters voted. Eric Holder launched a non-existent investigation into illegal IRS targeting of grass roots political groups and 47 government Inspector Generals have sent a letter of protest to Congress stating that the Obama Administration is getting in the way of justice. Eric Holder’s Justice Department is also responsible for the intimidation and illegal spying on journalists. Some are already openly asking if Eric Holder intends to railroad the police officer involved in the shooting for political reasons.

Government officials and those in their employ are not the only ones agitating. Several elite media networks have been shameful in their provocative and over the top coverage of Ferguson in an attempt to generate conflict and thus ratings.

Former CNN anchor and Fox News Channel’s “MediaBuzz” host Howard Kurtz blasted the irresponsible coverage:

“Some liberal outlets [are] creating almost a lynch mob mentality around this, the Huffington Post today, screaming banner headline ‘Arrest Him.’ Now, the Huffington Post, nor you or I, knows exactly what happened” he said. And “when you cross that line into becoming an advocate and to demanding that somebody be prosecuted before the facts are in, while the investigation is going on, you’re grandstanding, you’re trying to keep the story alive and I really think it’s troubling.”

Kurtz also criticized CNN for showing the house of accused officer Darren Wilson, stating, “It defies my understanding how you could put his life or the life of his family in danger by even briefly showing the house or naming the street.”

[Note: CNN was not alone. Yahoo News, USA Today and the Washington Post also reported the location of Officer Wilson’s home.]

The coverage drove CNN to number one in “the demo” and second in overall ratings. Howard Kurz, a liberal who at times acts as an apologist for political media bias, wasn’t alone in his candid critique. Breitbart News’ John Nolte:

Rather than report the news last week, the mainstream media instead chose to create news in Ferguson, Missouri with 24/7 race-baiting, outright lies, stupidity and urbanite ignorance.

Which now brings us to Al Sharpton. Politico reports that Al Sharpton is the White House’s man on the ground in Ferguson. Aside from Al Sharpton’s long history of bogus racial incitement and hoaxes, what does NBC think it is accomplishing with allowing Sharpton to be a player at creating news events in Ferguson while covering those same events on his nightly MSNBC program? All pretense of fairness, accuracy and objectivity is out the window.

Alveda King, niece of slain civil rights icon Dr. Martin Luther King, said that where Al Sharpton goes unrest escalates.

Speaking of unrest, agitators from Chicago were spotted in Ferguson inciting violence including Black Panthers and members of the Chicago Revolutionary Communist Party all of which have close ties with the Saul Alinsky inspired “community organizers” of the Chicago political machine which President Obama had worked with for years. Other self admitted revolutionary communists with relationships with the White House include Bill Ayers, Van Jones, Frank Marshall Davis(2), and Reverend Jeremiah Wright (2).

On Monday at Micheal Brown’s funeral the agitation continued with repeated comparisons of Brown to Jesus Christ, and the end goal – a statement from Al Sharpton calling for political action to follow him and of course to vote Democrat:

Sharpton called for Brown’s death to become a springboard for political action. “We can’t have a fit, we’ve got to have a movement,” Sharpton said. “A fit you get mad and run out for a couple of nights, a movement means we’ve got to be here for the long haul, and turn our chance into change,” he said, “our demonstration into legislation.”

It is always the goal of those who seek power to control both the establishment and the opposition. Those in the leadership of “all/both sides”, in apparent opposition to each other, all have a long chummy relationship with a segment of the leadership of the Democratic Party.

In the mean time black unemployment and labor participation are hovering at record lows, our inner cities are disaster in spite of trillions in new spending that promised to fix it, inner city schools are the quintessential example of failure. The Conference of Mayors reports that American jobs pay 23% less than they did before 2008 totaling $93 billion in lost wages.

Captain America, The Winter Soldier Trailer Analysis

As is made self-evident in the trailer Steve Rogers (Captain America) is working for SHIELD with Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow). Rogers begins to question SHIELD’s motives and extra-constitutional way of business.

Rogers visits a WWII museum which features some of his exploits from the war. Rogers seems to be reflecting on who he is and what Captain America really stands for. Notice the kids idolizing him just as they did back in WWII.
Cap reflecting on his past in a WWII museum
Rogers, at some point in the film, decides that he has to part ways with SHIELD and they try to take him into custody. The people Rogers fights in the elevator are SHIELD agents who work for a division of SHIELD called STRIKE. They have STRIKE pins, badges and one has a a STRIKE patch on his arm.   STRIKE Agent with PatchNotice that the two men in the quinjet with Rogers and Romanoff at the beginning are two of the men in the elevator.

In the screenshot below you can see both Rogers and Romanoff in civilian clothes. This seems to take place after Rogers leaves SHIELD.
Cap and Black Widow civiesDoes Romanoff agree with Rogers and decide to go with him or is Romanoff just playing along to keep tabs on Rogers? We will have to wait for the film to find out. Romanoff is a ruthless liar and killer, but as we saw in The Avengers she is trying to find and establish a moral compass.

Below we see an old SHIELD logo from the late 1940’s. Notice it has the Stars & Stripes shield in the center much like Captain America’s first shield made of iron.

Old SHIELD Facility with late 1940s logo

Cap sheds his new SHIELD issued uniform and puts on his old 1940’s uniform. Cap is obviously making it clear that he is Captain AMERICA, he is Captain Steve Rogers U.S. Army; not Captain SHIELD and not Captain international surveillance state. All surveillance state’s become states ran by fear, just as we are seeing in our own government here in the real world. In the trailer Falcon is also seen in battle against a SHIELD quinjet.
Cap in 40s uniform taking out SHIELD troops
As a matter of absolute clarity, SHIELD is an agency with much more than its fair share of liars and killers; they most certainly do violate human rights (in the Marvel Universe). As far as we know, little stands in SHIELD’s way other than people such as Agent Coulson who do have some moral compass.

In episode one of Agents of SHIELD, Agent Ward asked Coulson if he should “scratch off” – meaning murder – members of “The Rising Tide”, an idealistic hactivist group. Coulson’s reaction was one of shock…fortunately.

Those who watch Agents of SHIELD on ABC television are being lulled into a false sense of security. Agent Coulson is a good man, and I suspect that because he IS a good man they have him working assignments on The Bus to keep him, and any would be objections from him, out of the way. Coulson is a threat to SHIELD because if any one man has the influence to turn the Avengers against SHIELD it is Phil Coulson.

While SHIELD is the hero in the show, let us not forget that in several ways they are also an anti-hero (a key dynamic that makes SHIELD so interesting). Power corrupts …and not every SHIELD authority figure is Agent Coulson.

Stark, Banner, Rogers and Thor were and do remain skeptical of SHIELD. SHIELD Director Nick Fury lied to their faces about just wanting the Tesseract to be a “warm light for all mankind”. Fury was in mid-sentence lying to Rogers’ face about using the Tesseract to make weapons when Jarvis finished hacking SHIELD and Stark said, “What were you lying?”

This writer has always liked Captain America because he keeps it real, he keeps things in perspective, he does not let agendas trump principles – in short he IS good. I am impressed that Joss Wheadon is exploring how truly on the edge of dangerous SHIELD is to its own charter.

Zimmerman’s previous calls to police show no racial bias

Michelle Meyer at the Faculty Lounge law blog presented an analysis of the nearly 50 calls George Zimmerman had made to police in the 15 months prior to his run in with Trayvon Martin. His pattern of reports show no racial bias. The report is long but below is the key information:

List of Zimmerman’s Calls to Police

With that said, below is the list of calls; my commentary, such as it is, follows in the next section.

This chronological list of calls to both 911 and the non-emergency number is my rendering of the police records of GZ’s calls (link is to original source material). I have translated police codes and lingo to normal English as best I can. Whenever race/ethnicity is mentioned in the call log, I have included it here (any omissions are unintentional; if you discover any, please let me know so that I can correct this post).

A note about the number of calls GZ made. I’ve listed 43 incidents over about 7.5 years. (In a few cases, GZ called the operator back to provide additional information or to cancel the report, and that generated perhaps something closer to 46 calls, but I have chosen to focus on incidents.) On several occasions, I have seen vastly different claims about both the total number of calls GZ made and the time span over which he made them (e.g., “Zimmerman…called 911 46 times in 15 months” and “Zimmerman called…over 150 times”). I have not seen evidence of any additional calls made by GZ to either 911 or the non-emergency number, and all of the calls introduced into evidence by the state at his trial came from the 43 incidents I catalog here. But if there are other calls that should be included in the calculus, I will be happy to learn about them and update this post.

Commentary and Further Context

So what do GZ’s calls say about his views about black men? Many reports concerned open garage doors, potholes, and other inanimate objects. Others involved dogs. Others involved people — sometimes individuals and sometimes large groups — of unknown or undescribed race/ethnicity.

Of the twelve incidents in which race was given, six, including the incident reporting TM, involved black males (#34, 36, 37, 39, 42, 43), 5 involved white males (#3, 11, 23, 24, 40), and one involved two Hispanic males and one white male (#9). We could just count eyeballs (or skin color) and draw conclusions about whether GZ is a racial profiler on that basis. But as in most things, context matters. Which way does the context cut in this case? Probably in both directions.

Of the six incidents involving black males, one, recall, is the one in which GZ reports that he is concerned about the well being of a black male child who is wandering a busy street without adult supervision. So we’re talking about five incidents involving black males GZ found suspicious, and one involving a black male he wanted to help.

On the other hand, of the six incidents involving white males and Hispanic males, we may want to distinguish those incidents where GZ knew or at least had prior contact with the “suspect” (#11, the incident involving his ex-roommate, and #40, the one involving the food server he fired but had never met) from those where he reported total strangers (the remaining four). This leaves us with five reports involving black males GZ found suspicious and four reports involving white and/or Hispanic males.

Editor’s thought of the day

So let me get this straight. When a policeman pulls over a car with possible illegal aliens in it, he cannot ask certain questions because liberals say it’s racism. But liberals want gun owners to be registered, fingerprinted, and data-based up and down, as well as having our names and addresses printed in the paper.

Who is preferred and who is treated as the non-citizen?

Allen West vote fraud recount update!

greatamericanrepublic's avatarAllen West Republic

With every passing day, the math coming out of St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections Gertrude Walker’s office becomes more and more fuzzy.

On Sunday the St. Lucie Supervisor of Elections conducted a partial recount of early voting.  As a result of that count, the total number of votes dropped by 799.  Then on Monday the Supervisor of Elections explained the drop by saying 3,650 votes were double counted on Election Night and 1,950 were not counted at all.  Basic math tells us that removing 3,600 double counted votes and adding 1,950 does not add up to a drop of 799 votes, but rather a drop of about 1,700.

Of course, the St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections could clear up a lot of this fuzzy math if she would simply release the poll sign-in books so Floridians could see if the number of voters who checked into vote corroborates the number…

UPDATED – WHY? Five Million Conservatives Stayed Home, More Men Stayed Home, Women Reversed from 2010, Exit Polling on Policy Favored Republicans…

by Chuck Norton

For some reason the establishment GOP will not learn the lesson of George Bush 41, Bob Dole, the 2006 mid terms, John McCain, and now Mitt Romney. How many times will they push the same failed strategy and tell people that it is the only way to win? How many times will we be told that Dole, McCain and Romney must be chosen because they are the only “electable ones” only to watch them lose?

UPDATE – Zo: We ran a dull example of conservatism vs the shining star of leftism (video) – LINK

Editor’s Note – Romney lost the “cultural charisma” and the “popularity contest” voters – We put up a guy who is a dullard against the shining star of leftism. Think about this for as moment:

Nixon had more charisma than McGovern
Carter had more charisma than Ford
Reagan had more charisma than anybody
Clinton had more charisma than Bush41
Clinton had more charisma than Dole
No one has less charisma than Gore – Bush wins

Kerry and Bush have about equal charisma but Kerry was a stuffed shirt flip flopping (sound familiar) joke and everyone knew it.

McCain vs Obama – are you kidding me (but wow look at those Sarah Palin crowds)?

Romney vs Obama on likability Romney loses to the low knowledge voter.

One of the greatest Mass media theorists of all time Marshall McLuhan said “The medium is the message” and that is what so many Republicans are missing.

Doubt me??? – Marco Rubio vs Joe Biden. Allen West vs Joe Biden. Mike Pence vs Joe Biden.

Bottom line on the cultural charisma factor: who would make a better president, Captain Kangaroo or rapper JZ? The answer is obvious, but who would low knowledge voters pull the lever for?

Bush got over 62 million votes in 2004 when people were not all that excited about him. Mitt Romney got just under 57 million.

Mitt Romney got fewer votes than John McCain and everyone acknowledged that many conservatives stayed at home because they did not trust McCain’s inconsistent leadership and his bad habit of trashing conservatives on the Sunday morning talk shows. Conservatives also stayed home in 2006.

Stop right there and let those numbers sink in. We are a nation where the people self identify as conservatives more than liberals almost two to one. Yet look at the exit polling of those who actually voted: 35% identified as conservative, 25% as liberal and 41% as moderate.

The math does not lie. More conservative men stayed home, evangelicals turned out but in lesser numbers than in previous elections. Even in bastions of conservatism such as Elkhart County Indiana, and counties in North Florida had more conservative voters stay home.

My establishment Republican friends are not going to like this, but the math is what the math is. In 2010 Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann, Newt Gingrich, Marco Rubio and Allen West were the top of the political narrative. Women, who are to be swing voters, voted in heavier numbers for GOP/TEA Party candidates in nine of the top ten swing states than in any election since the 1984 Reagan landslide. This time women broke for the Democrats.

Just to give an example of what went wrong, look at the moral clarity of the messaging in 2010 vs 2012.

This was the prevailing political message in 2010:

Watch as Allen West sets the record straight on the war on terror where the other politicians are afraid to just tell it like it is:

By contrast Mitt Romney was pro-abortion before he was pro-life, against the Second Amendment before he was for it, was for Obama’s stimulus before he was against it, changed his stand on global warming alarmism depending on who was in front of him, was against the wildly successful Contract for America, and while campaigning went along with the Democrats in their disrespectful words against Ronald Reagan. Quite a difference.

So before we explain what went wrong it is very important to explain what the problem is not.

The problem is not that Republicans need to abandon conservatism and behave more like liberals as evidenced by the exit polling where almost every policy question favored Republicans:

Is the country moving in the right direction? – No

Should the government cut spending? – Yes

Should the government raise taxes? – No

Should Obamacare be repealed? – Yes

Should America use more of it’s own energy resources? – Yes

This demonstrates that on policy, those who voted, even engaged moderates, support conservative policy.

The problem is not that conservatism alienates independent voters, in fact every indication is that exactly the opposite is true. America’s Republican Governors are arch conservatives on policy, from taking on the government unions to school choice and fiscal responsibility. Independent voters vote for these governors and this election day such governors are in 30 states.

The elite media and some in the GOP establishment are blaming the TEA Party, but what they aren’t telling you is that establishment GOP “moderates” took a real beating this election including states such as Hawaii, North and South Dakota, Connecticut, and Virginia. Senator Scott Brown also lost his seat. The elite media may focus on Todd Akin in Missouri and Dick Mourdock in Indiana each losing their Senate races when they should have been an easy win. They self destructed because they engaged in some very undisciplined communication and turned enough voters off to cause some to split their ticket. Their loss had nothing to do with being conservative or traditional. Mike Pence won the Indiana Governor’s seat and he is as conservative as it gets.

Moderates also voted for Michelle Bachmann in Minnesota and for Jackie Walorski in Indiana’s Second District who again are both as conservative as they come and TEA Party favorites. Both won in swing districts.

About messaging: Jackie Walorski went after her Democrat opponent as the liberal fraud that he is, as he is nothing like he presented himself. She took off the gloves AND WON in spite of the fact that there was a 10% drop in turnout in Elkhart, the “conservative county” in her five county district. Walorski was willing to blast her opponent hard with the truth and was unafraid. If she had done so in 2010 she would have beaten Joe Donnelly back then. Michelle Bachmann did the same thing.

UPDATE IV40% of TEA Party Activists are Independents & Former Democrats Focused on Economic Results, Leads Democrats and Republicans on Generic Ballot Poll

The problem is not solely because America is turning more brown. New Hampshire is as white as it gets and the same problems appeared there as in the rest of the country.

The problem is not that Republicans are willing to talk about about “social issues”. In fact quite the opposite. Why? It is Democrats who went nuts on social issues to paint Republicans as people who want to ban birth control. So we have no choice but to engage and fight back and our reluctance to do so in a smart, disciplined manner cost us lots of women’s votes. We surrendered on this issue because we didn’t fight back at the Democrats dishonesty hard enough.

To run on only economics is to expect that people really understand economics. Excuse me Mr. Voter could you please explain to me what the debt to GDP ratio is and why it is a threat to your standard of living?

The problem is not because of the power of incumbency…you know because beating the incumbent in the White House is so rare…unless of course we remember that Carter beat Ford, Reagan Beat Carter, and Clinton Beat Bush, and Obama, who was a sitting duck and ripe for defeat, only squeaked by.

UPDATE II – Ronald Reagan dealt with liberals in the Republican Party who said the exact same things –

The “GOP establishment” has to come to terms with some uncomfortable facts

The evidence shows that we had the wrong man at the top of the ticket whose campaign made some major mistakes.

Mitt Romney had high negatives in several swing states including Ohio and Florida after the primary. Why? This is what happens when you have, as Newt Gingrich said, “A Massachusetts moderate who passed Romneycare” who runs a dishonest scorched earth primary and has adjusted his views every election year. The GOP establishment crammed him down our throat with massive amounts of corporate and PAC money.

Remember this guy?

In Florida, where Romney played those brutal ads against Newt it seems many stayed home on November 6th. Romney also ran dishonest ads against Rick Santorum so more evangelicals stayed home. This explains why we did good in polling and poor on election day. The disillusioned participated in the polls, got pegged as likely voters and stayed home on election day. How can you trash conservatives again and again and then expect them to show up for you? And to ad insult to injury say that “we should not be too strident in our criticisms” of Obama’s failures.

Weekly polling for two years tells us 61% of the people want Obamacare repealed, but too many voters simply didn’t believe that Romney was serious. Newt Gingrich warned that this very thing would happen. This very writer knows plenty of people who are conservatively minded who have said, “there is no difference between the two parties” and they essentially believe they are all big government big spenders. More and more blue collar Republicans no longer feel like they have a political party to call home.

Speaker of the House John Boehner’s lack of effectiveness in cutting any spending at all also served to undermine 2010 Republican freshman who tried to cut at least some spending were unable to largely because of Speaker Beohner. Libertarians in Indiana got 6% of the vote in some races, which is another indicator of this reasoning.

Another indicator is that traditionally the GOP has received about 80% of it’s donations from individuals in amounts of less than $200.00. This was not the case with Mitt Romney, although in the last weeks small contributors did donate more heavily, but none the less this indicates a problem with the base.

Below is a video of a disillusioned white male voter who I am told is a former Army Officer who worked in psychological operations (psych-ops). Granted the man in the video is a bit on the paranoid tip, but his sentiment that it no longer matters who you vote for is not uncommon among the millions of conservatives who stayed home, especially when one considers how many times the GOP “establishment” has failed to deliver it’s “limited government” campaign rhetoric:

[There is a way to tap into this sentiment and turn it into energy for votes without alienating moderates, but someone will have to hire me to get that information. Gotta make a living – Editor]

The Republican primary was so long because the people were on a search for the “Not-Romney” candidate. In fact, you probably once favored voting one of the other candidates precisely because of the problems mentioned above. Odds are you who sit here reading this very page was against the idea of Mitt Romney being your nominee so how could it be a surprise that so many Americans never warmed to him?

UPDATE V Since 2010 – Only 21% Say U.S. Government Has the Consent of the Governed

One reason why people are so upset, and either not voting or protest voting for Libertarians is because they are sick and tired of politicians promising the world and delivering more suffering.

We have never witnessed polls like this, Americans are showing a clear contempt for both political parties and after seeing this it becomes clear why Tea Party is polling ahead of both Democrats and Republicans. Also note the massive disconnect between the political class the the governed.

Speaking as a political scientist, these numbers show that the government is losing its legitimacy (please be sure you know what that word means in poli-sci terms before you comment). This can only mean big changes are ahead.

There is also an indicator that independents may be more conservative than Republicans now, if this trend continues it changes everything.

Rasmussen Reports:

The founding document of the United States, the Declaration of Independence, states that governments derive “their just powers from the consent of the governed.” Today, however, just 21% of voters nationwide believe that the federal government enjoys the consent of the governed.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 61% disagree and say the government does not have the necessary consent. Eighteen percent (18%) of voters are not sure.

However, 63% of the Political Class think the government has the consent of the governed, but only six percent (6%) of those with Mainstream views agree.

Seventy-one percent (71%) of all voters now view the federal government as a special interest group, and 70% believe that the government and big business typically work together in ways that hurt consumers and investors.

That helps explain why 75% of voters are angry at the policies of the federal government, and 63% say it would be better for the country if most members of Congress are defeated this November. Just 27% believe their own representative in Congress is the best person for the job.

The bottom line is that much of the blue collar in this country used to be solidly in the Republican Corner, but they feel like they have been lied to and taken for granted. Since the 2003 Bush tax cuts there have been ZERO domestic policy victories for this group of voters. That is why they are disillusioned and believe that no matter who they vote for government will just gets bigger and the economy will just get smaller. They feel squeezed and while they know that the Democrats are bad, they no longer have confidence in the Republican party. That is why these voters are staying home.

Messaging and policy must be bold, simple and provide a stark contrast

This time it just wasn’t.

Red State explained this problem rather well.

The question that many of these politicos have not answered is this: how could we possibly be more moderate than we already are? We ran with Dole in 1996, and we lost; we ran with McCain in 2008, and we lost; we ran with Romney, and we lost. Romney took the issue of Obamacare off the table and barely attacked Obama directly for much of anything. There was no potent conservative philosophy that was offered to provide voters with a sharp distinction between the parties. The Republican convention was a pathetic Oprah show and the entire campaign was basically an advocacy of Obama’s policies, albeit with less enthusiasm. And let’s not blame the loss on Paul Ryan and Medicare reform; he outperformed Bush and McCain with seniors.

For all the talk of the need to moderate in order to win, Obama ran the most divisive, radical, and negative campaign, while Romney ran a relentlessly positive campaign with incessant promises to work with the other side. People are attracted to a show of strength, not a promise of bipartisanship, which smacks of insecurity in one’s own virtues and ideas.

For those of you who may not remember, this is how to set a bold contrast with vision – LINK. When one does not run on big ideas they run on small things and that is what both Obama and Romney did.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz gets it as well and comments on why so many blue collar Republicans stayed home again:

All of the money in the world won’t help if you keep using the same failed strategy

Obama was a sitting duck, ripe for defeat and after all of the money spent they still couldn’t win in this ripe of an environment.

Bloomberg News:

The Republican strategist who created the model for the outside money groups that raised and spent more than $1 billion on the Nov. 6 elections saw almost no return for their money.

Rove, through his two political groups, American Crossroads and Crossroads Grassroots Policy Strategies, backed unsuccessful Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney with $127 million on more than 82,000 television spots, according to Kantar Media’s CMAG, an ad tracker based in New York. Ten of the 12 Senate candidates and four of the nine House candidates they supported also lost their races.

The results have angered some Republicans who blame Rove for “sidelining conservatives” and diverting money from them.

“Right now there is stunned disbelief that Republicans fared so poorly after all the money they invested,” said Brent Bozell, president of For America, an Alexandria-based nonprofit that advocates for Christian values in politics. “If I had 1/100th of Karl Rove’s money, I would have been more productive than he was.”

The Rove group also spent $622,400 on ads attacking Nelson in Florida, $513,000 on McCaskill in Missouri, $486,000 on Kaine in Virginia, and $466,000 on Jon Tester in Montana. Those Democrats all won.

American’s for Prosperity (AFP), a group that used a more traditional bold, conservative, contrast communications strategy, and is willing to back some TEA Party candidates, made $754,000 in ad buys in Nebraska and Nevada and saw its preferred Republican candidates win those races.

The GOP must get media savvy and learn & understand that when the other side gives you an opportunity to land a hay-maker, take it

Seize the day. In the third debate Mitt didn’t capitalize on the disaster of Benghazi, and instead spent too much time trying to appear unoffensive in some type of attempt to appeal to female voters. We saw what that got us.

In 2004 women voted for President Bush because he made them feel safe and when you feel safe why make a change? Remember those “security moms”? Time after time Obama left himself open for a hay-maker punch where he was vulnerable and Romney wouldn’t seize the day. If Romney would have went after Obama on Benghazi the elite media would have been forced to talk about it, but instead the elite media has clammed up and has been trying to keep this huge scandal under the rug until after the election.

How can they pay all of these “communications strategists” and not a one of them understands that a president or a presidential candidate can set the media agenda. He can essentially make them talk about what he is talking about and get his message out even against an unwilling press.

In the debate, Obama hit Mitt Romney on equal pay for women, but Obama has paid women less in both his campaign staff and his White House staff. Romney should have delivered a knock out punch with that kind of opening, and followed it up with the fact that the Obama Administration is once again targeting women’s health care screenings for rationing while fully acknowledging that the result will be more dead women.

Even though the government response to Hurricane Sandy has been slower than Katrina and essentially a disaster, President Obama went and used Governor Christie as a campaign prop and it worked. While Obama was seizing the day, Mitt Romney was suspending his campaign and running a small food drive. Here is an idea, how about Mitt Romney returns to his home of Massachusetts to offer his services to Governor Patrick or to work as a government liaison with the Red Cross to help flood victims. That just may have helped Scott Brown win his Senate Race.

Speaking of the elite media…

The GOP must learn that the elite media is out to destroy you and is in the tank for the Democrats to a level that is truly astonishing. CBS News had in their possession classified emails that showed that the order to stand down and essentially let our people get slaughtered in Benghazi while Obama watched in the situation room came from the White House. CBS sat on those emails and only released the story on their web site when Glenn Beck threatened to out the network and those involved for covering it up.

The time for trying to make the media like you is over, dealing with dishonest reporters individually and embarrassing them into doing their job is the best you can hope for. The approval rating of the elite media is right up there with syphilis so embarrassing them Newt Gingrich style is a win.

Elite Media bias counts for up to five points in the election, which is more than enough to to swing most races towards a Republican win, we cannot afford to simply surrender those five points any longer.

Newt Gingrich vs CBS’ Scott Pelly:

Newt Gingrich Blasts the Elite Media for Bias and Anti-Christian Bigotry:

Newt takes NBC’s David Gregory to school:

Newt vs. NPR’s Juan Williams on the “race card”

Newt vs Piers Morgan on Class Warfare

You will notice that every time Newt took on the elite media who did the people believe? Did they Believe Scott Pelly and George Stuffingenvelopes or did they believe Newt Gingrich. The answer is obvious as demonstrated by the North Carolina Exit Poll where Newt dominated the numbers including independents, evangelicals, and women. As Ron Paul has demonstrated, the young graduate to those with a big vision and big ideas.

When one is not afraid of the elite media in the slightest and simply refuses to take any of their crap you can engage them and use them to get your message out, just as Newt Gingrich did in his lengthy interview on foreign policy on CNN.

If the nominee had dealt with the elite media as effectively as Newt Gingrich much of that five points from media bias would have been averted and that alone would have reversed this election.

The GOP must not let the elite media pick their nominee, or millions in the base will not show up. Remember in 2008 when the elite media sung the praises of John McCain until the day after he secured the nomination and then went after him scurrilously. The elite media did the same with Mitt Romney. They trashed everyone but Mitt, until he secured the nomination. Which brings us to the next lesson.

Define yourself early and WIN the battle of the narratives

Remember those ads that accused Mitt Romney of causing the death of the wife of a steel worker, when in fact it was an Obama fund raiser who was in charge of Bain Capital at the time because Romney had already left to run the Olympics?

Obama started running those ads in swing states such as Ohio and Florida before Romney even secured the nomination. The elite media knew it was a lie but the reporting of it was essentially to say how brilliant the lie was and what a brilliant campaign Obama was running. Mitt Romney did not engage the media or run ads to fight back. Romney’s negatives were already high because of the scorched earth primary he and his allies had run and the “dead wife”adds from Obama drove those negatives up even further.

Romney didn’t start campaigning in Ohio in earnest until just about the time of the debates. Too late, many people had already made up their minds.

This was why the first debate was such a shock to the country, as Romney showed that he was not the evil, bloodthirsty, knuckle-dragging bastard that the Obama Campaign portrayed him as, but by then it was too little too late.

There were so many narratives to hit Obama on. One example is an EPA that has become truly imperious and tyrannical. One EPA official even said that they like to crucify companies like the Romans did to people, just to set an example. Take the countless horror stories and jobless from his outrageous eco-extremism and take that suffering and pin it on Obama as he so well deserved. Obama’s policies are truly cold and heartless and his corruption in the green sector to enrich his friends is well documented. The fast and furious scandal, which resulted in the brutal murders of hundreds of Mexicans and at least one American federal agent should have been used to turn Hispanics away from Obama. A scandal is a gimme to the opposition but yet once again, Romney would not seize the day.

The biggest narrative of all that was not even challenged, is that the economic collapse was Bush’s fault. Well facts matter and someone needs to stand for the truth.

1 – The Bush Administration lobbied congress almost 20 times for mortgage reform since 2001

2 – Republicans tried to pass mortgage reform multiple times and when Barney Frank couldn’t stop it in the House Chris Dodd and the filibuster threat did in the Senate.

3 – Obama took huge money from the mortgage industry to help preserve the status quo.

4 – When Obama was a lawyer for ACORN he participated in one of those bogus CRA lawsuits to force banks to give bad loans. The people he represented of course could not afford the payments and most lost their homes.

5 – Clinton Administration officials such as Janet Reno and Andrew Cuomo said on video that they wanted to use (read abuse) the CRA law to act as an affirmative action program for home loans, whether they qualified for the loan or not wasn’t important.

Voters have a limited attention span

Why would Mia Love and other fantastic candidates lose? The answer is coat tails. The top of the ticket sets the narrative and unless something unusual happens such as the Todd Akin or Dick Mourdock situation that gets huge press that catches the voter’s attention. If we are milquetoast at the top even the best of candidates pay the price down the ticket and we saw this happen in spades in this election. For most voters their time and attention only allow them to pay some attention to one or two races on the ticket. The rest are at the mercy of those at the top.

Walk the walk, don’t just talk the talk

Remember that ridiculous job killing light bulb ban that Republicans blamed Democrats for? Well the bill was co-authored by “conservative republican” and self proclaimed guardian of small business Fred Upton. Upton was primaried and as a result he is now behaving himself. Upton sponsored the bill to reverse the ban, but it should never have been an issue to begin with. It is NOT the job of Congress to micromanage the lives of the people.

Vote Fraud

There were so many problems with ballot counts that favored Democrats that I could fill the page with the links. Other blogs are doing that so I suggest that lawmakers read up and citizens make them listen. We control most of the countries governorships and state legislatures so the time to put teeth in our election laws and procedures is now.

We also need to put some teeth in the law and punish officials who election after election just seem to “OOPS” forget to send those military ballots out on time. In fact Obama sued the state of Ohio to try and prevent military ballots from being fully counted.

George Soros is using his empire to rig state vote counting the other way so for the integrity of the vote we need to push back hard.

Florida and Ohio were so close that if vote fraud could have been nailed down and military ballots counted we would have a President Elect Romney today.

UPDATE VII – Did the RNC’s expulsion of Ron Paul delegates from the convention cost Romney the election?

[Editor’s Note – I was pretty tough on Karl Rove in this piece. For the record I like Karl and we have chatted a little, but Karl, for your own good you should listen to this piece.]

What Happens When an Ambassador is in Peril?

Political Arena Editor Chuck Norton

Each consulate has a virtual panic button called the “Imminent Danger Notification System” that is hit whenever an ambassador is put in peril. This has been in place since after the Iranian Hostage Crisis.

This works as a virtual instant message that goes to the Intelligence agencies such as the CIA Director and the DNI, the Sec of State, the Defense Secretary, local
military assets are notified and it also goes to the White House situation room and
protocol says that this flash traffic MUST be acknowledged and someone in the situation room MUST go and physically contact the President. Again, this happens instantly.

In the absence of orders the standing order is for local assets to preserve American life. So someone had to STOP that AC130 gunship from firing and someone had to STOP local assets from responding as they were responding as they would have responded as a matter of protocol. Now we know that they were told to stand down three times.

We also know that two retired SEALS who were working under contract violated the stand down order and decided to uphold the standing order of “preserve American life”. They died doing so.

All of this “fog of war” nonsense and there was too much communication to sift through are lies.

A retired high level intelligence official with State Department experience tells Political Arena:

The IC and NMIC/NMCC were on this within minutes of the first alert.

The CDR US Fleet would have dispatched aircraft and choppers full of Marines immediately; the AC130 would have been airborne immediately and been on site fairly quickly.

The only — and I repeat ONLY way all these activities would have been stopped is if the order came from the White House; the precedent for this scenario is the USS Liberty attack when LBJ ordered the Fleet CinC to stand down, over the vehement objections of the CJCS and the CNO.

Also, Gen Petreaus said that the order to stand down was NOT given by the CIA …..therefore he IS confirming that there was a stand down order.

GM: The Deadbeat of America? (video)

Now that some forecasters believe that GM will go bankrupt again (largely because of government meddling) we have this devastating political ad.

So far the government has lost 50 billion on GM. Not to mention all of the jobs lost when the government targeted for closure car dealerships owned by Republicans.

CRS: One illegal alien in six is a repeat criminal offender! Recidivism rate is a whopping 67%!

Via the Congressional Research Service. The recidivism rate is 67%. That is staggering.

Fox News:

Roughly one in six illegal immigrants is re-arrested on criminal charges within three years of release, according to new government data being released Tuesday.

Those charges range from murder to drunken-driving and, according to House Republicans pushing out the report, are symptoms of what they describe as a “dangerous and deadly” immigration policy.

The findings, obtained by Fox News, are contained in reports by the Republican-controlled House Judiciary Committee and nonpartisan Congressional Research Service. They are the result of the committee’s subpoena request for Department of Homeland Security records from October 2008 to July 2011.

The information was analyzed by the CRS, which also broke down the information for criminal immigrants — legal immigrants who committed crimes and were arrested again over the three-year period. Together, the two groups also had a roughly one-in-six recidivism rate.

The records show 276,412 reported charges against illegal and criminal immigrants over that three-year period as identified by Secure Communities, a federal program that essentially attempts to make best use of resources by identifying and prioritizing which illegal immigrants pose the biggest threat to public safety and should be arrested or deported.

Of the 160,000 people in the database, more than 26,000 were re-arrested — accounting for nearly 58,000 crimes and violations.

They allegedly committed nearly 8,500 drunken-driving offenses and more than 6,000 drug-related violations. The records also show major criminal offenses, which included murder, battery, rape, kidnapping and nearly 3,000 thefts. Roughly 2 percent of the crimes included carjacking, child molestation, lynching and torture, according to the 13-page Congressional Research Service report.

“The Obama administration could have prevented these senseless crimes by enforcing our immigration laws,” the committee chairman, Rep. Lamar Smith, R-Texas, said. “But President Obama continues to further his anti-enforcement agenda while innocent Americans suffer the consequences.”

The report showed that more than 7,000 of those re-arrested were illegal immigrants. Among their charges were 19 murders, three attempted murders and 142 sex crimes.

Democrat leader Harry Reid steering business to Chinese energy company represented by his son while he helps put American energy workers in the unemployment line.

Reportedly,Harry Reid is using the power of his office as the Senate Majority Leader to harass Nevada Energy (NV Energy) the main supplier of power for the state in order  to help a Chinese “green energy” client of his son, Rory’s law firm. The Chinese company, ENN Mojave Energy LLC is planning  a billion-dollar solar energy manufacturing and generating plant in the state, while Reid is trying to strong arm NV Energy into buying their overpriced product.

Because they are treacherous Democrats neither Dingy Harry nor Emaciated Rory Reid feel the slightest hesitation to help a Communist country destroy an American company, even one in their own home state.

The Las Vegas Review Journal reported on Reid’s history of “beating up” on NV energy:

In the closing days of the George W. Bush administration, Reid blocked plans to build coal-fired power plants in Nevada. He said in April on…

40 Years of EPA and Billions Spent Yield No Improvement in Water Pollution

Business Insider:

The Clean Water Act was passed in 1972 and was supposed to keep pollution out of America’s lakes through EPA monitoring.

But 40 years later, nothing has changed, according to a study by V. Kerry Smith and Carlos Valcarcel Wolloh at Arizona State University.

According to the study:

With data from the U.S. Geological Survey’s National Water Information System (NWIS) we find average water quality in U.S. lakes is at about the same level in 2011 as it was in 1975 with over eighty percent of the lakes in the NWIS database consistent with fishable conditions based on measures of the levels of dissolved oxygen present in them. Thus, for freshwater lakes one could conclude nothing has changed.

The ineffectiveness calls into question why the federal government has spent billions of dollars enforcing the Clean Water Act with the EPA.

Of course one could argue that without the legislation water pollution would have gotten worse.

Smith and Wolloh say that the government needs to find a better way:

Our water quality indexes are far from ideal. Nonetheless they provide a vehicle for raising two important issues. First, new rules intended to improve some aspect of environmental quality should build into the implementation process a specific strategy for evaluating whether they do what is intended. At present they do not!

Firms go outside Michigan to fill IT jobs….

Such nonsense. The excuse is that there is no local talent, but what they want to do is fly in people from India, cram them in cheap apartments and pay them $8.50 an hour.

When I worked IT for Hewlett Packard I watched this happen. American workers who were doing the job just fine became no longer qualified. I have seen seminars put on by legal consultants in how to make like you are looking for Americans to fill the jobs so they can fool the government into letting them import people from India.

Detroit News:

They cite talent shortage while some workers with tech skills can’t find jobs

Thousands of high-paying IT jobs are expected to be created in Detroit over the next few years, but employers already are having trouble filling them.

Online mortgage company Quicken Loans Inc., looking to fill more than 300 information technology positions, has taken its search outside Michigan to find qualified candidates. The Detroit-based company recently launched a website aimed at recruiting laid-off Yahoo workers.

GalaxE.Solutions, a project management firm known for its “Outsource to Detroit” banner on its Woodward Avenue building, has stumbled trying to fill 500 IT jobs.

“There is a shortage nationwide of good IT talent,” said Ryan Hoyle, director of global recruiting for GalaxE, which has 150 IT workers in Detroit and hopes to add 350 in the next few years. “There just aren’t a lot of top students going into IT.”

Computer systems analysts, network systems and data communications analysts, computer software engineers, and network and computer systems administrators are among the “Hot 50” jobs in Michigan through 2018, according to the state’s Bureau of Labor Market Information & Strategic Initiatives.

Those jobs pay an average hourly wage of $31 or more.

Framingham, Mass.-based International Data Corp., a global market intelligence firm, predicts that 12,500 IT jobs could be created in Detroit by 2015.

At the same time, there are countless workers who have IT experience but cannot find a job in a field that often requires specific skill sets.
