I find it quite ostentatious that he actually mentions the fact that WW2 did not provide any economic benefit to the U.S. Although I agree with him the economic recession was still on-going well into the war. The war itself played a crucial part in the stabilization of the economy in 1947 and onwards, into the prosperous 50’s.

   Although the war was not an immediate factor, it definitely played an important role in the industrialization and standardization of the economy.

   I agree, and the technology cross over from military investment certainly plays a role in an economy as well. I think it is fair to say that WWII ended the New Deal and when that happened the economy started to recover.
