Government has become so corrupt and so intertwined with BigPharma, BigTech and other mega-sized corporate interests that no one President can fix the problem. 

President Trump’s regulatory reform made a good sized dent in the corruption as all too often the corporations capture the regulatory process and the regulators themselves. This is why those interests went after him mercilessly. The simple truth is that many, if not most government regulations are not put in the federal register for our benefit, they are put there because special interests paid to have them there. 

We live in a world where Phillip Morris will lobby Congress to raise cigarette taxes because they know they are so big that they can absorb the tax and not raise their price, but their smaller competitors cannot. 

Facebook and Democrats coordinate to attempt to make celebrities out of fake whistleblowers demanding that Congress regulate social media. Why? Because Facebook can buy all of the lawyers and Members of Congress it wants, their smaller competitors cannot. 

There is a revolving door of people who go to working for school book publishers, to universities, to teacher unions to the Department of Education and back – and then people wonder why school textbooks are outrageously expensive and have a watered down curriculum. 

The same can be said from those working in the Pentagon or a congressional armed services committee who leave then then work for defense contractors for millions.
